"Chesterfield" Farm Stay, Merlwood, Murgon

“Chesterfield” a very secluded and tranquil farm stay located 15 minutes outside Murgon. The perfect place to stop, take a breath & take in the sights & sounds of farm life & enjoy your stay surrounded by natural bushland, birdlife, wildlife & my boys (steers). Drink in the views from the bull nose verandah or take a stroll up to Wine Tree Hill or check out/photograph the milky way - just magnificent! Perfect location to explore the South Burnett or relax and do as little as possible. The space Merlwood’s “Chesterfield” is a pet friendly, beautiful “home away from home” experience. You can engage with me as little or as much as you like. My home is your home. Help yourself and make yourself at home. Perfect for bush walkers, bird watchers, photographers, artists, families, friends, couples or even individuals. Everything you need for the perfect break. The four-bedroom (all bedrooms are in the one part of the house) western red cedar home provides open plan living with cathedral ceilings and blue gum staircase to a loft, with a bull nose verandah where you can relax and drink in the views. Totally private with absolutely stunning views from which you can see Byee silos, Byee flats, Mt McEuen and surrounding districts from Wine Tree Hill - this high-perched vantage point of the property. Guest access I do work from home (office desk in living area) and will be home on most occasions during your stay so the kitchen, living areas, fire place, etc. are all shared spaces, however I do my best to provide you with as much privacy as possible. Please feel free to walk around the majority of the 82-acre property and immerse yourself in nature and wildlife. Venture up to Wine Tree Hill to soak up the beautiful sweeping surrounds, views and immerse yourself in an unforgettable sunset. During your stay I also give my guests space but am available when needed. You can engage with me as little or as much as you like. My home is your home. I do work from home (office in living area) so I will be home on most occasions during your stay, however will do my best to give you as much privacy as possible. Other things to note There are plenty of cellar doors to explore in nearby Moffatdale (20-minute drive) & Kingaroy – if you can tear yourself away from this private oasis. Sample award winning food and wines, wet a line in one of the area’s dams or waterways (Bjelke Petersen Dam or Boondooma Dam or even drop a line in the nearby Byee Weir), visit a weekend market, browse through art galleries and museums, follow the heritage trail, explore Boat Mountain Conservation Park, just to name a few…. Just 15 minutes to Murgon, 45 minutes to Kingaroy, 3 hours to Brisbane and is the ideal location for the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival (May) , Kingaroy's BaconFest (August), Murgon Music Muster (November), Wondai's Garden Expo (April & September), Kilkivan to Kingaroy's Rail Trail, Wondai & Proston Park Runs, the new 55 Million Years Ago Fossil Musem, just to name a few....
