Purpose-built as a secluded, barrier-free chalet, Cedar Peak features a full kitchen, home theatre, and thoughtful comforts for an unforgettable stay. The space My modern take on the classic A-Frame, Cedar Peak is a unique chalet that I designed and handcrafted from local white cedar. Everything from the cabinetry to the furniture is custom made on-site, with the goal of building a stunning, barrier-free accommodation that can be enjoyed by all. Cedar Peak is decorated with works by local Cape Breton artists. Drive directly up to the front porch to access the step-free entrance to Cedar Peak. An accessible boardwalk wraps around the house to the patio overlooking Grand Étang, the Cape Breton highlands, and the ocean. The boardwalk continues to connect the patio to the lookout: a panoramic viewing platform overlooking Squirrel Mountain. Enter in to the open-concept living space which is easy to navigate for those requiring barrier-free access. The A-frame's vaulted ceiling lets in copious amounts of natural light. The space features a dining nook with wrap-around seating and bench. Moving the bench provides access for utilization of a wheelchair. The microwave, glassware, food storage containers, oils & spices are all located in the cabinet on right side of nook. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size stove, oven, fridge & dishwasher. Coffee maker, grinder, moka pot, kettle, coffee, tea, sugar, milk & cream are all included. Small appliances include a toaster, blender & Kitchen-Aid stand mixer. Dishes, cutlery, utensils, pots & pans are all found in the drawers to the right of the oven. Living room seating provides a comfortable space for viewing the entertainment center, or watching the sunrises and sunsets from the 13 foot window. The entertainment center includes a 75" Sony 4K TV with home theatre system and full size Yamaha Keyboard. From the barrier-free hallway you will gain access to the Bathroom on the left, Nook Bedroom straight ahead, and Master Bedroom on the right. The Master Bedroom with king size bed features a 55" Sony 4K TV, and ample storage space with a dresser and armoire. The Nook Bedroom with a queen size bed features a 42" TV and storage space in the drawers below the bed and shelving for luggage above. The bathroom includes 2 sinks, one with access for a wheelchair. Grab bars are located around the comfort level toilet. Try out the towel warmer for a cozy experience on a chilly day! The roll-in shower has grab bars and a shower bench and includes both an adjustable hand-held shower and rain shower head. Guest access Guest are welcome in all spaces except utility closet within the chalet, and the shed located on the property. Other things to note Cedar Peak is in an area of extreme weather, with winds that can reach speeds of 250km/h+. It is located on a hill that is not protected from the elements. During a wind storm it will be extremely loud and I will have to close the shutters, which blocks the view from the large window. I will notify you as soon as I am aware of a impending storm, and you will have the option to cancel penalty free.
