Elegant home in the safe, peaceful neighborhood of Tall Oaks. The neighbors are nice and there are fruit trees, birds, and dragonflies! I fell in love with this property and decided it was perfect to share with anyone needing a place to work remotely, like I do or who has reason to stop in Emporia. The house is spacious and welcoming. I don’t allow children for anyone that’s staying in a single room but if you want to rent all 3 available guest rooms, you’re welcome to bring the whole family. The Duxbury Gray room is one of two rooms on opposite sides of the second floor of my house. It has a plush queen bed, a work table, seating area with a TV and various food prep amenities. It shares a spacious hall bath with the other upstairs bedroom, when it's occupied. You will often have the bathroom to yourself. My home is on a quiet street without any thru-traffic less than 10 minutes from Interstate 95. These rooms are large and well-appointed with many thoughtful details and a large closet. See for yourself! You’ll have access to the room you select, the shared upstairs bathroom, and the full kitchen on the first floor. You can also spend time on the wrap-around porch and the backyard, which includes a pergola and deck full of fruit trees. I'm usually in the house since I work remotely. I travel sometimes so I'll let you know if you'll be alone or not. I may be around to greet you when you check in but otherwise, am happy to keep to myself. I have an office downstairs and am usually in meetings throughout the afternoon but monitor for messages regularly. All rooms have their own TVs, including mine so the common space is pretty calm and quiet. Sometimes I watch TV in the living room but will use headphones if guests have turned out their room lights. This is a quiet family-friendly neighborhood with no thru traffic. It has an idyllic atmosphere that gives it the feel of an oasis within the city of Emporia, however we’re only a mile from a gas station, Dollar General, and laundromat. Law enforcement is also a mile away. It feels very safe here. There is ample parking in my driveway. You will need a car to get around here. I welcome your use of the kitchen but do ask that you refrain from preparing meals with strong, lingering odors like certain seafoods or heavy spices. If that's something you want to do, I have a single-burner camp stove we can set up on the back deck. I'm happy to accommodate however I can.
