We're only two miles north of Potlatch State Park, a great place for picnics, swimming, parasailing or paddle boarding. Good food 2 miles away in Hoodsport, a nice Mexican restaurant with waterfront dining. Great hamburger stand, pizza, ice cream parlor/coffee shop and Model T Tavern also in Hoodsport. Ten miles to Union for world-class dining and live musical entertainment at Alderbrook Resort & Spa, and Union Deli. World's best Olympic Mountain Ice Cream made nearby and sold in many locations, most notably Hunter's Farm, a true, family farmstead with fresh, seasonal produce and farm animal petting zoo. We're in a quiet neighborhood, right across the street from Hood Canal. We have a small "pie slice" of a sunrise view, plus full, deep woods with old growth trees in our backyard. Great tasting, safe well water with no chemicals or chlorine. Seals sometimes call at night, and eagles are often visible overhead. Great scuba diving only 5 miles away at Sund Rock and Octopus Hole. Lake Cushman and Olympic National Park right up the road. Lots of restaurants, taverns, live music and more between here and Union, ten miles away. Small casino 3 miles away. Mason Transit Authority (MTA) sends public buses by twice daily---round trip to Shelton, Jefferson County Line (north) and Lake Cushman. Fare is FREE. Taxi and Uber service, too. We are 2 hours to SeaTac Airport, same to Seattle. We are 90 minutes along US Highway 101 to historic Port Townsend. Coffee lovers should bring their own ground beans for our cone filter/hot pot system. Great gourmet coffee only 2 miles away. No full stove or oven, but microwave, hot pot, toaster oven, hot plate and crock pot. Moderate highway noise abates by evening. Occasional neighborhood noise of children playing, someone fixing a motor or cutting firewood, etc. Lastly - We have two beautiful, black cats who live in our space; they are not allowed in rental space. They may be curious about you but usually keep their distance. My husband Mark is an expert on tourist attractions in the area; his popular book on waterfalls is yours to borrow (included). Most guests are very appreciative of how much we offer at such a good price.
