Rental unit in State College

Our apartment is perfect for the traveler who is looking for basic accommodations, but wants a little more room to spread out than a standard hotel room offers. Minutes to Penn State, but "away from it all" -- a perfect home base for your visit! The space Clean, cozy efficiency/studio apartment available for short-term rentals. Only 2.5 miles from Beaver Stadium & Bryce Jordan Center, and 3.5 miles from the Penn Stater Conference Center. In a quiet neighborhood, but close to everything! Outdoor amenities including Mount Nittany, Spring Creek Park, and bike path to various destinations are all moments away. Downtown State College is a quick drive. With your own entrance and parking spot, you can come and go as you please. You will be given a code for the keypad lock ahead of your arrival so you can let yourself in. A queen-size bed with a new (2019) firm mattress, and a queen-size futon offer flexible sleeping configurations for two people. Two-person maximum occupancy. The only exceptions are for children under 12 accompanying their parent(s). Two-night minimum stay. Coffee/tea & towels/linens provided. Wi-fi available. The kitchen is for light use only. For guests who plan to do a lot of cooking during their stay, this is not a good fit. No highly fragrant foods, high-heat cooking, etc. due to limited ventilation and a very sensitive smoke alarm. (See more information on this under "other details to note" below). Things to keep in mind: This apartment is *not* within reasonable walking distance to downtown State College. Guests staying in the apartment would do best if they have a car or are comfortable using a ride service. Apartment does *not* have a TV. The apartment has a portable AC unit that we can set up upon request. This apartment is in the lower level of our home. We will be home during rental periods, and are looking for renters who are reasonably quiet after 10 p.m. No smoking in the apartment. We are happy to provide an ashtray for outside smoking, just let us know. In general, we require a 2-night minimum for weekends. But if you are visiting during the week, we'd consider a one-night stay. Message me if you're seeking a more flexible stay and we'll see what we can do! Guest access The apartment is attached to our home, but is a separate entity in terms of access. Guests have their own space completely separate from our household. Other things to note We do not charge a cleaning fee, and expect our guests to perform a very basic clean-up upon checking out (washing their dishes, putting their trash into a trashcan, wiping off counters, that kind of thing). Our kitchen is for light use only. No highly fragrant foods, high-heat cooking, etc. due to limited ventilation and a very sensitive smoke alarm. We will charge a $100 air-out fee if guests create strong food odors that will require our additional effort to get rid of.
