The space You’ll find peace and quiet here while still being close to everything Talkeetna is famous for. Perfect for travelers exploring Alaska by road or for those who may want an escape from town for awhile. Our home is a perfect retreat with well maintained roads throughout the year and easy access to the parks highway as well as the cross country ski trails our area is famous for! I reside downstairs and available if guests need anything at all! **This is a pet friendly place (2 pets maximum) however there will be a $30 charge added at booking. Please keep pets on leash when exploring the property. There is also a gate on the deck upstairs so they can enjoy the cool Alaskan mornings with you. If you need to leave pets at the cottage unsupervised there is a large crate available under the twin bed. Please do not leave pets in the cottage unsupervised unless they are crated. **There is a wood burning stove in the cottage that is available for use with permission/instructions for using. I have wood available, just please ask! If you would like to bring your own wood, please contact me prior to your stay for stove size (it is a small stove) **This is a NO SMOKING property. ** The fire pit is only available in the summer/fall (for obvious reasons). Please check with me to make sure we are not under a burn ban. Guest access You’ll use the stairs to access the large deck in the back and have keypad access to the lift apartment. Your space is completely separate from the living space downstairs, but feel free use of the washer/dryer downstairs (laundry facilities are available 8am-8pm). Other things to note Just a few miles down the spur are summer hiking trails that turn into back country ski trails in the winter. We also have many lakes nearby if you want to go for a swim or cast a line. I have fishing poles you can borrow and there is a tackle shop in town that can assist with lure selection. And we have a great kayak/canoe rentals available at the Talkeetna lake park.
