The space The guesthouse has a lovely courtyard entry with a beautiful, quiet, outdoor space to place to relax. The sunrise from the patio is lovely! The kitchen features an electric cooktop, small fridge, large toaster oven and convection microwave oven. The cottage is craftsman built featuring fir cabinetry, custom Murphy wall bed, classic tiling and ample storage. Up the built-in-ladder is a sleeping loft with an ocean view out the window where you can see the ferries, cruise ships and traffic entering Victoria Harbour. The skylight and windows let in lots of natural light that makes the rich fir glow. Open the french patio doors to let in the fresh ocean breeze. The space comes with all linens and towels, toilet paper, soap etc. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, tools and utensils and if there something that you want to cook up and don't see the tool, we likely have one just next door. We are a friendly family and happy to chat and lend advice to guests. We will likely be living in our home at the time of your visit on the other side of the big gate/fence. Our friendly mutt cross is a family dog and always up to meet a new friend. The space is dog friendly and one block from an awesome ocean front dog park! The neighbourhood is very quiet and has a very positive vibe, with residents enjoying the wonderful place to live and people from around the area (who wished they lived here!) frequenting the amazing parks at Macaulay Point and Saxe Point. The boat launch at the Esquimalt Angler's Club is the most user-friendly in Greater Victoria and offers easy access to the year round fishing opportunities that Southern Vancouver Island has to offer. To the east of us you find what is called Department of National Defence Land, which is primarily naval residences and large fields rolling down to the ocean. Public transit is accessed just a block away on Lampson Street giving an easy connection to downtown Victoria. Or hop on a harbour ferry from the stop at West Bay Marina, about a 15 minute walk from the cottage. Walking around the area is the best way to experience it and the town of Esquimalt has done a great job of illustrating this in a series of brochures with suggested walking tours along the ocean and gives some history on this area. We have hard copies on hand for guests to use. There is also an easy biking route to downtown Victoria in 15 minutes. Guest access You will have the Guest House all to yourself. Our family home is detached and the spaces are physically separated by fences. We access our house from Munro Street while the Guest House is on the Pooley Place side of our corner property. The Guest House has a courtyard out front for you to enjoy with patio chairs, table and a BBQ. Other things to note * The guest house is located on Pooley Place whereas the main house in on Munro (we're on a corner lot) * Park on Pooley as you'll find plenty of street parking directly adjacent to the gateway entry to the suite Registration Details Provincial registration number: H740741453
