Fern Cottage was originally built in 1926 as a vacation home and get away. It has a large, natural stone fireplace; shiny, plank pine floors; and double paned casement windows with screens that open to the informal garden that surrounds it. Giant old oaks have squirrels lealping branch to brank. Fern Cottage is a perfect place to unwind. The entire property is fully fenced for privacy and safety for young children. You will have complete access to the house and two brick patios, paths and fenced garden on this private 1/3 acre, including a large gravel parking area with wooden gate. The house is located at the bottom of a rather steep street in a forested area, but access is easy from the flat driveway. The neighbors are friendly, but will respect your privacy. Fern Cottage is a 15 minute walk from town. There is a bus stop nearby as well with regular service. Parking in the driveway is preferred, though street parking is allowed. There is ample room for three cars in the driveway. We ask guests to keep the gate closed due to potential deer problems. Because Fern Cottage has a septic tank rather than connection to a city sewer, special care must be taken. No foreign objects or chemicals may be placed in the toilet or down any drain. There is wifi, but no television service. The television set is for DVDs only and is located in the bedroom. There is a collection of DVDs and they are inserted on the left side of the screen.
