A perfect mountain house nestled between 2 small mountain streams on the side of Bolton Valley, elevation 2,000 feet. Perfect for a ski vacation, Spring hikes, Summer escape from the heat or perch yourself in and above the Fall Foliage. Ski in-Ski out for Cross Country skiing and downhill to the Timberline Lodge! Take advantage of the Bolton Valley Resort Sports Center- mountain biking, year round pickeball, tennis and pools. Close to The Ponds, a popular wedding venue. The space Enjoy our unique spacious open Mountain House. We love it and I'm sure you will too. Spectacular views from all windows, especially the master bedroom. Take in Chuck's artistic craftsman ship, a combination of function and form. Snowflake photos taken at the house as well as many wooden items, several from trees on our property. In the interest of keeping our home nice we do require prior positive reviews, we don't accept pets, we do not allow parties or uncontrolled behvior. No shoes in the house and food and beverages is to stay in the kitchen, dining living room area. The house is very private with a bedroom on each floor as well as extra space for sleeping on futons or air mattresses. There is an extra room behind the master bedroom, to use as an extra bedroom or to have younger children stay close to their parents while maintaining some privacy. There is a game room in the basement, a converted ping pong table, air-hockey, bin of Legos, a cupboard of games and puzzles, as well as books. In the main room there is a stereo with a record player and a plethora of records - You may need to teach the younger folks what it its! The house is nestled up against the ski slope allowing for ski in and ski out for both downhill -to the lower lift and Cross Country, as well as snowshoeing and sledding. There is usually great snow at Bolton due to its higher elevation compared to other resorts in Vermont, the In bounds, and backcountry are great! The non snow months abound with hiking, biking, disc golf and exploration or just sitting next to one of our 2 streams. Down the mountain is public acces to the Bolton Pot Holes, a much loved local gem for swimming on a hot day or just hanging out to whatch others cliff jump, or wade into the shallows. The Bolton Valley All Access Lift Ticket not only gives the ticket holder access to the lifts for the day but it also includes access to 100km of Nordic and backcountry terrain and the Sports Center with pool, hot tub, sauna and games for the kids. All of which can be accessed separately for a fee. Now offering indoor tennis and pickleball. The house is close to The Ponds a perfect wedding venue. We are well situated for those that come for the beer. In the middle to Stowe, Waterbury and Burlington all with great microbreweries We have a guide of the surrounding area but here are some highlights Bolton is centrally located to Burlington, Shelburne, Waterbury, Stowe and Montpelier. All wonderful towns where you can find great food and attractions including Shelburne Museum, Shelburne Farms and the Teddy Bear Factory. 45 minute drive Plenty of shopping in Burlington with Lake Champlain and the bike path. 30 minute drive. Stowe shopping, hiking, resorts.. 30 minutes Montpelier the State Capitol 30 minutes Waterbury has Ben and Jerry's as well as excellent restaurants 15 minutes Guest access Full access to the house - There will be a few storage closets for our personal gear. You are welcome to use our sleds and snowshoes. Other things to note The Botlon Access road and our driveway are steep and difficult in the winter, although we have a lower flat parking area as a back up, awheel and snow tires make the drive much easier. There is a bucket and shovel with a gravel/salt mixture in the garage. If there has been 6 inches of snow or more we will either snow blow or arrange for a plow. A shovel will be by the front door and in the garage so that guests can shovel the front porch. It is the guest's responcabiltity to keep the furnace vent and emergency egresses free of snow.
