This mid-century, coastal charmer is located in the heart of downtown Encinitas and is only steps away from beach access and all of downtown Encinitas. Walking distance to the train station, numerous restaurants and coffee shops, surf and boutique shops. Kick back in the front or back yard and enjoy the sunshine and cool ocean breeze. The space This house is one of the few original beach homes built in 1936, which only adds to its character and charm! This historic gem of a home leaves you with those true hippy vibes. The house has its original hardwood flooring in the living/dining room and throwback slatted windows which keeps the whole house very cool from the ocean breeze. Sit out front and watch the world go by behind the cute, white picket fence in our large front yard. For more privacy, escape to the huge fenced in backyard and enjoy the sights and sounds of hummingbirds and orioles while enjoying your home cooked meals under the shade of the large umbrella. Bright bistro string lighting makes the backyard our number one spot to enjoy a home cooked dinner. There is seating in the front yard for sunbathing and the backyard has a large table with seating for 5 for outdoor dining enjoyment. There are two, off-street dedicated parking spots which is a HUGE advantage because street parking during the summer months is extremely hard to come by! The main bedroom has a luxury queen size mattress with quality bedding, a small walk-in closet, armoire, and storage cabinets. The second room is a converted sun room. There is a door for privacy. There is 1 full bathroom with hotel quality towels and washcloths provided on the bathroom shelves/cabinets. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are available and located in the vintage shower that looks out to the private backyard. There is also an outdoor shower in the backyard although this does not receive warm water. Beach towels are provided. The dining room has a table with seating for 4. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, gas oven/stove, dish ware, utensils, and pots and pans. Everything you need to cook your own meals during your stay! On the side of the house you will find three beach chairs, two boogie boards, a foam long board, beach umbrella, cooler on wheels and a bucket full of kids beach toys for a relaxing family beach day! There is a stacked washer/dryer in the backyard where laundry supplies are provided. Dog(s) may be allowed upon host approval. Please inquire. An additional fee will be applied. No cats, sorry. FYI- There is no central A/C or heating. Guest access Two reserved/designated parking spaces are at the back of the house in the alley. This is where you will access the home when you arrive via the key code lock box.
