Tucked away on a quiet lane in Upper Oddington, Climbing Rose Cottage is a cosy, well set up base for two. You’ve got peaceful walks straight from the doorstep, a great local pub nearby, and some of the Cotswolds’ best villages just a short drive away. It’s an easy place to settle in, whether you’re here for a few days or a longer stay. The space Set on a quiet, tucked-away lane in Upper Oddington, the cottage feels peaceful from the moment you arrive, with very little passing traffic. You can head straight out for walks from the front door, and The Fox pub is nearby for an easy lunch or dinner, with more options just a short drive away. Daylesford Farm and Stow-on-the-Wold are both within easy reach, so you’ve got plenty to explore without going far. The cottage itself is small but thoughtfully laid out, with everything you need for a comfortable stay for two. It’s set up so you can properly settle in, with space to unpack and not feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. Downstairs is an open-plan living space with oak beams and a wood burning stove, along with a sofa, armchair and dining table for two. It’s a cosy spot to come back to after a day out. The kitchen looks onto the garden and covers the essentials, including an electric Aga, microwave, small fridge with icebox, compact dishwasher, kettle and toaster. Upstairs, the bedroom has a king size bed and good storage, and the bathroom has a shower over the bath. Outside, there’s a garden and patio area at the front with seating, a nice place for a morning coffee or an evening drink. Private parking is just outside, so coming and going is straightforward. There’s also a washer dryer at the cottage, which tends to come into its own after muddy walks, especially in the winter. We try to be as clear as possible upfront, as these are the points that tend to come up in guest feedback: - The cottage is small, but has everything you need for a comfortable stay for two. - For dog owners, the garden isn’t enclosed Other things to note Guest Information Size and Setting: This is a SMALL, COSY cottage located in a quiet village. The village has two wonderful pubs (the Horse & Groom is currently closed due to new ownership) but no local shops. A car is advisable for convenience. Transport: A car is advisable for your stay as the public transport options in the village are limited. We know a great taxi guy if you need transport services. Supplies: The nearest supermarkets are Tesco in Stow on the Wold and Aldi in Moreton on Marsh, both about a 10-minute drive away. We recommend bringing some supplies to see you through your first day or so. Access: The key safe is located on the wall on the right-hand side of the front door. Linen: Bed linen and towels are supplied for your stay. Parking: Off-street parking is available for one car. Children: The cottage is designed as a peaceful retreat for adults and is not equipped for children or babies. Pets: One well-behaved dog is welcome for an additional £20 per booking. If you wish to bring a second dog, please contact me directly. Additionally, cats are not allowed. Garden: The garden is in front of the cottage, please note that the garden IS NOT enclosed. WiFi: Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the property. Mobile Reception: Mobile phone reception may be inconsistent. We recommend enabling WiFi calling on your phone. TV: There are two Smart TVs with access to Netflix and Prime. Garden: The garden is not enclosed. Heating: Underfloor heating is provided on the ground floor. Plug-in heaters are also available. Wood Burner: A starter supply of wood is provided for the wood-burning stove. Smoking: No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property. Check-in and check-out times: We’re happy to offer early check-in or late check-out whenever possible—just let us know closer to your stay, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
