The two buildings, which are rented together, are independent from each other with separate street entrances, and share an interior courtyard concealed by a protective wall that was built in the 19th century to wear off invading pirates. Main Building Upon entering the principal 102sqm building, you are immediately enveloped by a classy ambience underscored by a fine selection of original antique furniture and ornaments handed down for generations. From the great-grandmother’s commode to the sepia photographs hanging on the walls, the lodge’s interior spaces radiate an air of warmth and well being, evoking the intimacy of a cherished home during the island’s golden years. A master bedroom with a king-size bed and a separate, spacious guestroom featuring two twin beds share a luxurious marble-clad bathroom with a walk-in rain shower. The villa’s front porch, touched by Hydra’s coastal magic and almost lapped by the storied waters of the Aegean, is a romantic and tranquil place to dine on a summer evening while soaking up the changing hues of the sunset. Studio Graced by antique nautical objects and display china plates, the one-space 55sqm studio house is discreetly divided into a generous living room with an open-plan kitchen and a spacious guestroom with two twin beds that convert into an almost king-sized bed. Both areas lead out onto a secluded courtyard that conveys an idyllic quality suggestive of summer ease and quiet reverie. Perfumed with herbs and aromatic plants, and partially shaded by lemon and mandarin trees, it is ideal for al fresco dining or a movie night under the stars.
