Cottage in the hills beside working farm

Unwind in this serene retreat nestled in the Lammermuir Hills. Enjoy the Wi-Fi,private garden with dedicated parking+kids toys and books on request.The place fully furnished with unique and quirky furniture. For the safety of all guests, please refrain from venturing near the farm yard or buildings. Avoid approaching the cows or farm workers while they are tending to the animals. More detailed instructions will be provided to guests upon booking to ensure a peaceful and relaxing experience. The space This tranquil cottage is nestled in the picturesque Lammermuir Hills just outside Gifford. The cozy accommodation features one twin bedroom and one king-size bedroom, there is a fold out bed available for the king size bedroom (see pic). There is a bathroom with a shower over bath, the bath has very high sides so might not be suitable for all as no side handle (huge apologies) see pic of bath, central heating, TV, and an open fire (a small bag of logs can be provided upon request during the winter months). Additional logs can be arranged at an extra charge with prior notice. Enjoy meals in the dining conservatory or in the kitchen equipped with a dining table and plenty of cooking pots and pans. Stay connected with Wi-FI. There is use of private garden with dedicated parking. Keep an eye out for the resident peacocks that freely roam the garden – they are known to be very friendly! Please note that the Aga is currently turned off, but there is an electric oven available for cooking. Relax, unwind, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this charming cottage in the Lammermuir Hills. The farm track (about a mile) is pretty bumpy with lots of pot holes, it’s absolutely fine if you drive slowly / around the potholes. You may see a friendly spider or 2. You may hear the noise of cows. You may have a peacock sitting on our window sill. Guest access Myself or a family member will meet you on arrival or we will leave a key for you. Please note that guests are not permitted in the farm yard or in or near any of the farm buildings. Guests can walk back along the track they came in on, and freely into the Lammermuirs that way (happy to give advice on local walks, do ask if interested). We will send a map showing details of where you can walk separately. Please do not go in any fields on the farm especially important if they contain livestock. Please don’t go near the cows or approach farm workers when they are handling them. Other things to note We will almost always be staying locally so are available to answer any questions. Happy for you to get in touch anytime during the stay. This is a strictly no pets property. Please use location instructions we give you rather than Sat nav. Please do not go into any of my locked buildings attached to the house and in garden. Please do not go into any of the farm buildings or sheds. Please stay away from the farm yard and don’t go near the cow pen / cows. If there are farm workers handling cows, please do not approach them as cows are easily spooked by strangers! A Peacock and the peahen will roam freely in my garden, they are very friendly, please respect them and try not to approach quickly/ shout loudly at them!
