Description
This house is truly one-of-a-kind. Originally constructed to be Nova Scotia’s famous gift shop “Jennifer’s of Nova Scotia”, this house sits halfway between Halifax and Peggy’s Cove, in the beautiful Bayside community. The view from the main windows is Welsh’s Lake, with nothing but rolling hills of forest behind it—except for the perfect sunset. -25 min from Halifax -2.5 Bedrooms (Master/loft = 1.5) -Sleeps 8 -22 foot ceiling in living room -Smart lighting -Custom built furniture/local artwork The space The main floor is very open, with the entrance leading into the living area, which also has a dining room table. A counter separates the living room from the kitchen, and has a delightful coffee nook stocked with beans from a local roastery. The coffee nook, as well as many other areas in the house, features live edge wood. The kitchen leads to the bathroom as well as the deck. Attached to the living room is the study. A dedicated work space with a custom built glass top desk and two monitors you can hook up to. There is a large 70” smart TV in the living room, with Samsung TV Plus, Netflix, and Prime. The master bedroom will take your breath away, if you have any breath leftover. There is a very large walk in closet stocked with extra towels, sheets, and blankets. The loft is only accessible from the stairs in the living room, with its own door, so it really feels like its own space. Curtains are there for extra privacy. The basement is where the second bedroom is, which itself is large but lacks the impressive ceilings. There is a treadmill, TV, and desk, as well as a dehumidifier. The washer and dryer are also in the basement. Guest access Peggy's Cove is just 15 minutes further down the road, as well as several hiking trails (High Head, Polly's Cove, Long Lake, more). Sorrow's End is a well know cliff face that is frequented by Rock Climbers. Granite Springs 18-Hole Golf Course is 3 minutes away. Welsh's Lake does have a public access point just a 3 minute walk from the house. There are beaches in the area, and there is so much going on in Halifax there is no way you will run out of things to do. Depending on the season, wild blueberries, black berries, and cranberries grow in significant quantities beside the pond. Board- and party-games are available, and are best enjoyed in conjunction with the smart lights. Other things to note No parties, but small gatherings (<15) may be acceptable with permission. The driveway easily fits 3 vehicles, and likely a 4th with some minor creativity. The house will be cleaned professionally before you arrive, their fee is $120. The house is best suited for 6, but the pull-out couch brings the capacity up to 8. Beyond 6 guests a $30 fee will be applied for each person. Additional people on an air mattress is negotiable. Pets are allowed, but come with an additional $35 cleaning fee. You are still expected to pick up after your pets. Registration Details STR2526A1930
