Long Sands Cottage - Walk to Beach

Walk to Long Sands Beach - we are 0.4 miles from the beach, about a 7 minute walk. July/August are 7-day Sat to Sat only rentals. IMPORTANT: You must bring your own linens and towels. Cottage is on a charming unpaved road in a quiet neighborhood of small 1950's vintage seasonal cottages. Walking distance to downtown York Beach which has a zoo, restaurants, penny arcade and fun shops. There is a rolling beach cart and two backpack beach chairs available for your use. The space IMPORTANT NOTE: Guests must provide ALL of their own linens (sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, beach towels, kitchen hand towels, etc). Pillows and light blankets are provided. Cottage has three bedrooms and the convenience of a full kitchen and a big communal living area. The cottage is small (about 500 square feet) but it is quaint and well set up. The photos make it seem bigger (yes we used a wide angle lens) but past guests agree it is comfortable for a family of 4-6 people. Enjoy the outdoor deck and yard. Largest bedroom has a brand new comfy queen bed for the adults. Two smaller bedrooms have new mattresses as well but they are bunk beds so best for kids and single adults, one room is a twin/twin bunk and the other is twin/full bunk. The bedrooms are tiny but the living area and dining is big enough for 4-6 people. If you are used to luxury accommodations, you may want to stay elsewhere — this is a vintage summer cottage built in the 1940s, not a suite at the Waldorf. There is no air conditioning in the bedrooms but there are ceiling fans and we did install a big AC unit in the living area that can cool the place down when Summer hits and a breeze is hard to find. We have a well outfitted kitchen with pots and pans, utensils, coffee maker, basic spices and kitchen stuff (coffee grinder, lobster pot and claw crackers, etc). Refrigerator, gas stove, and a microwave. There is also an outdoor deck a table and chairs with a kitchen setup — a large sink and prep area for use with the BBQ grill so you can easily cook outdoors! Private outdoor shower has hot water and rain shower head — a great amenity for outdoor showering after a sandy day at the beach. Guest access There is a big outdoor deck with a dining table that seats 6. Propane BBQ grill. Large private outdoor shower with hot water. Private back yard with a big fire pit area in the backyard for nights by the fire roasting marshmallows and making 'Smores. Firewood is "bring your own". Make memories in Maine. Other things to note No smoking in the house. July and August are weekly rentals that run Saturday to Saturday. Instant Book is a 7 night minimum. If you are looking for short stays, try us in June, September and October. Our property insurance DOES NOT cover intentional or accidental damage protection or loss of personal property for guests due to theft, vandalism, loss, or weather events. You should insure your possessions with adequate traveler's insurance if you feel it will be necessary.
