The space Our goal in sharing our home with guests is to provide an affordable option for those who want an inexpensive, comfortable place to stay! It is an older home which we are improving bit by bit. This is a basement suite (picture mother-in-law apartment) with a separate entrance and parking area. Tenants do live upstairs with children who often rise around 6:30-7AM, so please keep this in mind. Basement stays nice and cool most of the time. In the winter, we have space heaters to keep it nice and comfortable for you. In the summer, the space is perfect for anyone who loves a cool, air-conditioned stay! Guest access Entire basement level to yourselves. Shared access to yard. Other things to note Overall peaceful place and neighborhood! Basement apartment generally stays nice and cool year round. Both beds are topped with comfy memory-foam. As a basement apartment, this cozy space does get less sunlight than the upstairs. However, you will still enjoy some natural light even here as there are windows in every room. No check-ins available on Sundays. For Sunday events, make it a great weekend and book Saturday as well! Some sounds do carry through the house. A sound-reducing board has been placed against the door that joins both levels of the house (you won't see the board). Sound machines are also provided so that in the case of noise from other residents or neighbors, you will still be able to get your full night's sleep! Quiet hours are 9pm - 8am but we ask that noise levels be kept respectful throughout the day as well. Family upstairs are fairly early risers at around 6:45-7:30am most days. Temperature stays cool, generally hovering around 70-72F. Two cozy bamboo blankets are provided for those who feel slightly chilly; a box fan is provided for those who would like to cool off more. We are happy to say the majority of cleaning supplies used are generally more natural-based. If you would like bedding washed with Free-and-Clear detergent feel free to verify ahead of time. The home and yard is mainly pesticide free, although we do spray a small pest barrier around doors and windows. *Washing machine temporarily out of order. *Please alert us ahead of time if you will need the air mattress or couch for sleeping so we can have them prepared for you. *Ask ahead of time for use of hammock, pack 'n play, and children's books and toys and we will be happy to provide those. *If you will need other items for babies/children please contact us to see what is available. We are here to help however we can! **Please remember this is a largely unrenovated space in a basement apartment with a family upstairs. If you are not okay with this, please pay more for a different space at another location. We are happy to provide an amazing deal and amazing space for those who want this, and appreciate all the wonderful guests who have come to stay with us. We are continually working to improve, seek feedback in our messaging and Welcome Book forms, and provide the very best service we can. We ask guests to review and rate us accordingly, and please do not compare us to a 5-star hotel.
