Welcome to Lowick House and to our secluded corner of the Northumberland coast. We offer a unique opportunity to stay in a recently built eco conscious self-build home located in a peaceful private estate close to Holy Island, a string of sandy beaches and the historical town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The space Welcome to Lowick House! Run by Lydia and Arthur along with their two children Violet and Juno and friendly golden retriever, Lola. Lydia has worked in the luxury travel industry in London for many years and more recently has been running four award-winning holiday cottages in Northumberland. We are passionate about the area and hope you will enjoy discovering this beautiful and wild part of Northumberland. We have two recently decorated ensuite guest bedrooms named ‘Havilliard’ meaning ‘loved one’ and ‘Serafina’, Hebrew for ‘highest ranking angels of God’. Both rooms are situated on the ground floor wing and connected to the main house via a glazed winter garden room. We have ample and secure parking on site. Our rooms are light and airy with dramatic tall ceilings and decorated using beautiful soft furnishings and fabrics from renowned local designer, Charlotte Gaisford. Each room has a super king bed, Noble Isle toiletries, hairdryer, smart TV and complimentary Wifi. The bathrooms offer a toilet, sink, bath tub with handheld shower, heated towels rail and fluffy towels. There is a tray table in the corner of each room with a kettle, selection of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. You will have access to your bedroom via a lockable door and we offer an external key safe outside the winter garden so that you can come and go as you please. We source local ingredients for our breakfast and use toiletries that are eco-friendly and cruelty free. Our underfloor heating and timber frame home secures our pledge to sustainability, whilst maintaining an ambient temperature year-round via our ground source heat pump. Thermostats are present in each room for individual control. A generous continental self-serve breakfast will be available from 08:00 - 09:30 each morning in the winter garden. We kindly ask that you advise us of any dietary requirements or allergies in advance of your arrival. Lowick House is located down a private track so offers peace and tranquillity and beautiful views. Due to its perfect skies, Northumberland has been awarded gold tier status by the international Dark Sky Association (IDA), making it officially one of the best places on Earth to view the wonders of the night sky. There is an abundance of wildlife and sightings of deer, hares, pheasants, and birds are common. We have some excellent walks from the doorstep and the local village of Lowick is around two miles away, accessible by car or foot and has two excellent pubs and a quaint village shop. Holy Island is approximately 5 miles away and is a must during your stay. We are also a short distance from Bamburgh Castle, the Farne Islands and the historical town of Berwick-upon-Tweed and there are many local activities available including horse riding, surfing, fishing, abseiling and golf. During your stay We live on the property and will be available to provide any help and information that is required. Other things to note There is patchy mobile phone reception at Lowick House, but we offer complimentary Wifi and Wifi calling. We ensure there is also a landline for any emergency calls. Smart TVs are available in the bedrooms. If you prefer a dark bedroom we advise our guests to bring eye masks as none of our blinds or curtains are total blackout. There is a large well ventilated gym room available on request, suitable for HIIT, pilates and yoga etc. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept children or pets.
