The home looks over the Snowmass valley with huge views in many directions and backed up by a huge fir forest. Galliwest has been extensively remodeled (completion November, 2010) and enlarged, making it the one of the larger private homes with ski-in-ski-out access available for rent in Snowmass (6 bedroom, 5.5 baths + powder rm, not counting the attached caretaker unit). It is in Woodrun I, the first and most prestigious of the on-the-mountain private housing areas in Snowmass. Snowmass is the largest and most popular mountain in the 4-mountain Aspen complex. Galliwest is located on Snowmass mountain with incredible ski in/out access and mountain/valley views. The house retains a nice ski chalet feel while also having a new modern look from the 2010 remodel. All fixtures, appliances, entertainment systems and bathrooms are new in the house along with modern furniture etc. In November 2013 we installed a brand new outdoor hot tub! An elevator in the stairwell rises from the 2-car garage and mudroom/ski storage area on the first floor to the 3 upper floors. On the 2nd and 3rd floors, there are 4 large front master bedrooms, with king sized beds, flat screen televisions, en suite bathrooms, and sweeping valley views. Two of them open onto balconies or decks. Two have 2-person hot tubs in the bath. Two have large walk-in showers. Two small back bedrooms, one with two twin beds, one with a queen and a twin, are most often occupied by children or young adults. The living-dining area on the 4th floor opens onto large front and back decks. A large fully equipped kitchen that invites multi-cook meal preparation communicates with a dining area with a long table seating 12-14. The living area is surrounded by large windows, high ceilings, and sweeping views. There is a large office area on the 3rd floor, with two large desks and a computer and printer. There is a large laundry area on the first bedroom floor, with a laundry chute down from the 3rd floor. The unit is ideally suited for extended multi-generation families, like our own, or for 2-3 families that like to ski together, or for 4 couples. The house is located about a 10 minute walk from the Snowmass Mall (restaurants, shopping) and is a 5 minute drive to the Snowmass market. The neighborhood is a short distance to anything you need while also being tucked on to the mountain and into a patch of woods. Snowmass Village is located next to Aspen Colorado and takes about 20 minutes to drive there or a 30 minute free bus ride. Enjoy mountain biking (right along the Tom Blake Trail!), skiing, snowboarding, world class hiking, rafting, and Aspen's cultural center from our house in the Rocky Mountains.
