Emily's Cottage was Hand-Built-on-Site and is modeled after a 1930's style cottage but with all the Modern Conveniences. It sits in a peaceful wooded setting 2 miles down a quiet country road surrounded by peaceful pastures and woodlands. A unique & tranquil place. Emily's Cottage and Leona's Cottage are separated by a grove of trees allowing privacy for both but close enough to have family/friend gatherings that can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests. The space Emily's Cottage is reminiscent of the 1930's. This gem was Hand-Built-on-Site by Rick Thornberg, your host, using local lumber from a Summersville Saw Mill. The Hand-Crafted Wood Floors, Ceilings and Walls are unique to the 1930's along with the paint palette, antique doors and doorknobs. Adding to the comfort are a Whisper Quiet Central Air/Heating System and Ceiling Fans in all rooms. The cottage sits within our small farm in a cove of woods with its own gravel road just past the main driveway. You'll pass Leona's Cottage on your way in. These cottages are far enough away to enjoy total privacy but close enough to enjoy larger family/friend gatherings and can accommodate up to 8. Inside you'll find the Living Room, Dining Area, Kitchen, 2 Separate Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom and Screened Porch. There is a Large Roku TV with Amazon Prime and Netflix, WIFI (usually speedy) and an assortment of interesting books, puzzles, cards and board games. The 2 bedrooms are outfitted with Queen Luxury Mattresses and Antique Headboards, and Armoire for personal items. Included are 4 Luxury Pillows and High Quality 100% Cotton Linens. Mattresses and Pillows are Fully Encased in Mattress/Pillow Protectors. Your Bathroom accommodates all your personal needs and comes complete with Shelving for your Personal Items as well as numerous Hooks for Towels and Clothes. Complimentary items include Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Soap and a Blow Dryer. The fully functional Kitchen is equipped with a Stove/Oven, Refrigerator/Freezer, Full Size Sink and plenty of cookware, place settings and kitchen towels. You'll find a Keurig Coffee Machine, Tea Pot, Microwave, Crockpot and Toaster. Complimentary items include Coffee, Teas, Cream and Sugar along with basic condiments, paper towels, dish soap and kitchen towels. The Screened Porch is a great place to observe the "many creatures large and small including deer, fox, chipmunks and many types of feathered friends including owls and woodpeckers. Outdoors you’ll find the Propane Grill, Sitting Area around the Outdoor Fire Pit, Table and Chairs and a Few Outdoor Games. The Fire Pit is prepared with Complimentary Firewood for your 1st night’s stay. We provide Extra Bundles on the Honor System at $5:00 @ Bundle (Cash Only Please). You may collect any dead and downed for kindling. The Outside Table and Chairs are located in the Grilling area making it easy to enjoy your outdoor meals. We provide Marshmallows & Skewers.
