Our 1920s Tudor is 15 minutes from Gurnee Mills and Great Lakes Naval Base. It has a gourmet kitchen and whirlpool tub, and has kept all its charm with curved staircase and original trim. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with the dining room opening to a fenced yard and deck shaded by oak trees. Milwaukee and Chicago attractions are under an hour drive. Waukegan beach, marina and Metra train station are 5 minutes. The space The front door opens to a bright living room with a fireplace, big screen TV, and large reclining sectional. Next is the dining room with a very large table that comfortably seats 8 adults. The kitchen has been fully updated with granite countertops, extra tall cabinets and stainless steel appliances. You will find the kitchen well stocked for all your regular cooking needs. If you need any special appliances (crock pot, vegetable steamer, Instapot, with air fryer, bread machine, etc.) just ask and we will make them available. For our caffeine loving friends, there is a Keurig machine, Cuisinart Grind and Brew, and a French press coffee maker. Next to the coffee station there is also a nook with a desk area for those who need to keep up remotely with their work. A curved staircase leads to the second floor with a large primary bedroom (king bed) and two good sized guest rooms (queen beds) and the bathroom complete with a deep whirlpool soaking tub. We have just finished remodeling the basement which has an additional bathroom with walk in shower, a bedroom area (perfect for that teen looking for their own private space), and the laundry room. Our home is as lovely inside as it is outside. Double French doors lead from the dining room to our deck that over looks a backyard surrounded by a privacy fence. In keeping with the theme of the home it has an English garden feel. Between the large shady oaks and the cooling effect of nearby Lake Michigan even warm summer days are comfortable for relaxing around the table on the deck. We have a large gas grill, perfect for cookouts, and a firepit which comes stocked with wood for one fire. If your gathering goes late just plug in the overhead café lighting and continue the fellowship (but please be respectful of our nice neighbors). Guest access The front door has a keypad deadbolt so you can come and go easily. There is a back door off the kitchen and french doors off the dining room leading to the back yard. Other things to note Parking is always available on the street and is free to nonresidents of the city.
