Leland Summer Home w/huge porch on Lake Leelanau
Description
This Leland lakefront house is the oldest cottage on North Lake Leelanau. Built in 1902, it is located a short walk to downtown Leland. It has 4 bedrooms plus a bunk bed in the hall, and a huge, wrap-around porch that is fantastic for enjoying the lake view, regardless of weather. No TV, no wi-fi, no stress! Pure, old-fashioned fun and relaxation for the whole family. Fresh air that smells of pine. 100 feet of lakefront with dock, boats and more. The space Spacious Leland Summer home with a huge wrap around porch and fabulous lake view. About 30-40 minute drive to Traverse City or the Sleeping Bear Dunes in Glen Arbor. Four bedrooms, three with double beds, one with a twin and a bunk bed (dubbed "the kids room," but fine for all ages), plus another bunk bed in the wide, upstairs hallway. Unapologetically old-fashioned, the house has no TV or internet. Never had it, never will. Wi-fi is available in Leland at the library and several other locations in town. No smoking anywhere on the property, please. Guest access Bikes, paddleboat, rowboat, canoe, 2 kayaks, "aqua lily pad" (raft), life vests, fishing gear, beach toys. Other things to note The cottage is 120 years old and retains its rustic charm. For example the cast iron tub is about 100 years old. The kitchen has the original "farmhouse" sink. No dishwasher. No AC or heat, but fans and space heaters are available. No washer or dryer, but lots of clotheslines for your wet towels and suits! There is a laundromat in Suttons Bay, about 20 minutes away. Plenty of day trips within a short drive: Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Tall Ships, lots of wineries and breweries, Crystal River Canoe Trip, etc. But why anyone would want to leave the front porch and the dock is beyond us!
