The space This cozy 2 bedroom downstairs home is fully equipped for a family or group of friends. Kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 bedrooms, and full bath provide all the comforts of home. Picture windows in the living room, kitchen, and master frame the views. It truly is a nesting and resting space. 1 queen-sized master bed 1 full-sized bottom bunk 1 twin-sized top bunk 1 full size sofa bed 3 twin-sized thick floor mattresses 1 full-sized airbed All bedding and linens provided. Kitchen has full-sized fridge, oven, and microwave. Or use the BBQ outside. (in warmer seasons) Laundry room includes full sized washer and dryer. There is an assortment of games, puzzles, books, and toys for various ages. Wi-Fi will keep you connected - switch your phone to Wi-Fi calling for better connectivity. (FYI - the only screens here are the ones you might bring.) We encourage visitors to take advantage of this opportunity to get away and "unplug" for a digital detox, if desired. Outside Get out in the adventure that is right outside your door. You will likely see deer, wild turkeys, birds, and squirrels snacking under the trees. Maybe you'll meet Tigger, our barn cat! And be sure to visit our 10 chickens. Look up! Many have seen bald eagles circling, riding on rising air currents. The inviting patio has a southeast exposure which gives lots of sun on fair days. When it's not snowy, kick back on the cushioned patio furniture with a good book or good friends. Kids can explore the trails while you relax in the hammock under the trees. You get the feeling you are "away from it all", yet the sound of the nearby road reminds you that civilization isn't too far away. Throw some burgers and brats on the BBQ for dinner! In the evening, the built-in fire pit (all wood is provided) is ready for your s'mores under the stars. Enjoy Lake Pend Orielle's ever-changing moods, with beautiful shifts in the weather. Adventure & Activities Hiking and snowshoeing trails on nearby Grouse and Gold mountains and Farragut State park are only the beginning of the extensive array of state and national parks nearby. World-class skiing at Schweitzer is reason alone to come in winter!  Garfield Bay is crystal clear in summer and ready for boating, paddle boarding, fishing, and swimming. Bring your lunch and spend the day at the park down there. The town of Sandpoint has plenty to offer for the outdoorsman shopper and the boutique browser alike. Enjoy a variety of cuisine at locally owned restaurants and shops. - 8 min. off Hwy. 95 - 8 min. to Garfield Bay - 20 min. to Sandpoint - 40 min. to Schweitzer ski resort - 35 min. to Silverwood Theme Park - 50 min. to Coeur D'Alene - 80 min. to Spokane Guest access With its own key-coded entry, you'll have the entire downstairs to yourself. Access includes a gravel path with stone stairs from the driveway which is lit at night. NOTE: Although the private road and driveway are maintained for snow, traction (snow) tires &/or 4WD are highly recommended in winter. Other things to note Your location on the lowest floor keeps you cooler in summer and the pellet stove or radiant floor heat keeps you toasty in winter. Your hosts' home is upstairs.
