Direct shoreline access from the property is host-guided only. For your own independent water adventures, Lapasse Boat Launch is about 5 minutes away and is a great option if you are bringing a boat, kayak, canoe, or SUP. Little Lakes Beach in Beachburg is about 15 minutes away and is a beautiful public beach option. The nearby causeway is also a favourite local spot for a peaceful walk, fishing, or launching smaller watercraft when conditions allow. Bikes and fishing rods may be available by request. Other things to note This is a rural A-frame stay on a full-time family-held property and retreat land, and that is part of what makes it special. The A-frame bedrooms are upstairs and require stairs. Because of the unique A-frame design, the sleeping areas are semi-private to support airflow. The main bedroom has a door, and the second sleeping area can include a privacy curtain upon request. Like most A-frames, the temperature can shift between levels. In summer, the A/C works best when doors are kept closed. In winter, electric heat keeps the cabin cozy, and extra fans or heaters are available when needed. Country living means nature is close. You may experience mosquitoes in summer, ladybugs in fall and spring, frogs singing at night, birds at sunrise, wildlife, mud, snow, wind, sunshine, and all the seasonal beauty that comes with being away from the city. Our skies are one of our favourite parts of living here. Because we are away from city lights, clear nights can bring incredible stargazing and peaceful Milky Way views. Bring a blanket, pour something warm, or enjoy the stars from the hot tub. Our property overlooks the Ottawa River, yet guests do not have direct water access on their own from the property. For independent water adventures, Lapasse Boat Launch is about 5 minutes away, and Little Lakes Beach in Beachburg is about 15 minutes away. Seasonal host-guided water experiences may be available by request, weather and schedule dependent. Sunset on the river is one of our favourite things to share. Jolene and Spirit, our horses, are part of the heartbeat of the land. We do not offer trail rides. Guests are welcome to enjoy watching them from safe areas. For everyone’s safety, guests may not enter paddocks, open gates, or feed the horses unless we are present and have invited you to do so. Come here to have fun. Laugh. Swim. Soak.
