Welcome to beautiful McGibbon By The Bay-The Annex! This designated historic home was established circa 1878 as the McGibbon Lumber Company and is located in the heart of historic Penetanguishene. Penetanguishene, sometimes shortened to Penetang, is a town in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the southeasterly tip of Georgian Bay. Incorporated on February 22, 1882, this bilingual community has a population of 8,962. Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally located place. The space The annex features two levels of living consisting of one queen bedroom, a living room complete with a large flat-screen television, a fully appointed kitchenette with complimentary Keurig coffee, and a three-piece bath, all on the lower level. The entrance is on the main level as well as a covered veranda. While there is no water view from the annex, the property overlooks the picturesque McGibbon Point, a part of Rotary Champlain Wendat park and Penetanguishene harbour. McGibbon Point provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding, social gathering, or the best shoreline fishing! The point is named after Charles McGibbon, previous owner, former Warden of Simcoe County, and the Mayor of Penetanguishene from 1905 to 1907. Some of the floors are the original pine. We are also located along the snowmobile trail and welcome riders! We offer ice fishing charters or guided tours upon special request. In the summer months, tours or fishing by boat are also available. Guest access During your stay, you may wish to visit some local attractions such as the splash pad, the historic Naval and Military Establishments, or Penetang Centennial Museum, take in a show at Discovery Harbour, see the sights from a water perspective aboard the Seguin, shop at some of the quaint stores along the main street or discover the local cuisine. Also, a hop-skip-and-a-jump to The Martyrs Shrine, Wye Marsh, Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons, and Huronia Museum & Ouendat Village. We are also within minutes of local area attractions, including the longest fresh-water sand beach in the world. Great central location for day trips to Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Big Chute, and Parry Sound, making McGibbon By The Bay a superb choice for a multi-night stay. Other things to note All 3 televisions in the guest suite are connected with Rogers Ignite, making each a smart tv.
