A Wonderful Getaway Home on the North Shore!

A perfect place to visit the northern highlights of Chicago! 1/4 mile from Ravinia! 1.5 miles from the Botanic Gardens! 30 minutes from Chicago (an hour and a half from Milwaukee). Close to trains, planes, and easy automobile access. A two-bedroom gem in the heart of so many wonderful things. Other local places include Northwestern University, Lake Forest, Winnetka, and Lake County. I have a cat living here, but he will accompany me when I leave. The space The house is the home of an artist (me!), so it has an eclectic taste of paintings, found objects, and quaintness. It is perfect for a couple and offers a bright coziness in every room (although with two bedrooms, it can comfortably accommodate two couples). It is approximately 1,400 sq. ft. with a semi-finished, comfortable basement (including a fireplace and a third bedroom, should that be needed). The bedrooms are a nice size, and the upstairs bathroom is also a good size. The dining room comfortably sits 4-5, and there is an Alexa for your listening pleasure. It plays anything. You simply have to ask! The kitchen is galley-style, but there's plenty of room to prepare your favorite meal. I have most of the utensils and cookware, but I'm no gourmet chef! I keep space in the fridge and freezer for your needs, and feel free to use any items in there or the pantry, for that matter. If you have a pet staying, I would prefer it to be crated if you leave it alone in the house, and please clean up after it. I have a recycling bag in the pantry for your recyclables, and the trash bin is in the kitchen. You will find the trash cans (for garbage and recycling) located by the side of the house.There is a third trash can for compost items; they can be put directly into the blue and yellow bins. The paintings are available for purchase ... just ask about pricing! PLEASE NOTE! THIS IS A PRIVATE HOME YOU WILL BE STAYING IN! ONE GUEST SEEMED TO THINK SHE WAS COMING TO A RENTAL HOUSE WITH NO PERSONAL ITEMS IN VIEW. I JUST WANTED THERE TO BE NO MISUNDERSTANDINGS! ENJOY! : ) I also have a cat who leaves with me and I keep it as dander free as humanly possible! Guest access The entire house will be yours, except for the locked doors (basement and upstairs hallway), and the garage is also closed for access. You will find that most of the drawers contain my belongings, so please treat them with respect. I have cleared a chest of drawers in the master bedroom, as well as closet space for you. Additionally, there is a whole closet in the second bedroom available for your use. The backyard patio has a grill and seating for six and is lit when the sun goes down. I try to keep things quiet after 9 in respect for my neighbors. Please park your car on the driveway, and I recommend locking it at night. Please lock the doors and return the keys in the lockbox when you leave! Thanks! Other things to note I never double-booked the house, so you can expect the whole space during your visit.
