Lakefront with Gorgeous Sunsets!

Approximately 1 hour from Toronto, enjoy the beauty of Lake Scugog! Gorgeous sunsets, with fishing off the dock. The lake is shallow and warm. Located in a 100-year-old lakeside community, 15 minutes outside of Port Perry. Spend your day kayaking and relaxing by the lake, then cook yourself a gourmet meal in the home's modern kitchen. Campfires, playing card games, and chatting into the evening — Enjoy life at the lake! The space PROPERTY — Lake Scugog is shallow, with a rich abundance of aquatic life. Because of that, it's not a crystal-clear lake, and some adults might find it too shallow for swimming. Kids love it, because it's shallow and warm (approximately 3' at the end of the dock). I love nothing more than to soak the day away, floating with a beverage in hand. The lake has a reputation for being an excellent lake to fish, kayak, paddleboard, and windsurf on. The property is large with 75 feet of waterfront. There's a 50' dock and a small lakeside deck with 4 Muskoka chairs. There are 2 kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard available for your enjoyment. Directly off the main floor of the house is a 30'x16' deck with 6 Muskoka chairs, and a propane BBQ. There's a picnic table for outdoor dining, as well as a folding table and chairs. MAIN FLOOR — An open-concept living/ dining/ kitchen area that walks out to a deck overlooking the property and lake. The main floor has a gas fireplace and a 65" smart TV. The TV is connected to wifi only (no cable). PLEASE NOTE: You must be able to climb stairs, as there is only one toilet in the house and it’s on the second floor. All sleeping areas and bedrooms are on the second floor. SECOND FLOOR — One large bathroom with a toilet, walk-in shower, freestanding tub, two sink vanities, and a gas fireplace. SECOND FLOOR SLEEPING AREAS — There are only 2 proper "bedrooms" in the home Bedroom #1 — One king-size bed Bedroom #2 — One king-size bed Sleeping area #3 — *One single bed in the 2nd floor hall Sleeping Area #4 — *One single bed in a cozy, small room that doubles as a laundry room. The mattresses are all firm to medium-firm memory foam. The home sleeps 6 people. It would be perfect for two couples and two individuals. *The single beds noted are best suited for young people. Guest access • Enter the home through your own private entrance, to the right of the parking area, using the keyless entry code provided. Other things to note THINGS TO BRING • Beach towels for outdoor use • If you use self-tanning products, please bring your own towels for use after showering too. (I'm trying to stop my towels from repeatedly getting damaged — Thanks in advance for your understanding) • Child-size life jackets (if bringing children). We have 4 available. Check the sizes noted in the House Manual to see if they'll fit your children, or message me to confirm • Water/swim shoes • A fishing rod and a valid fishing license • Outdoor blanket for relaxing on in the shade • We supply filters for the drip coffee maker, but do not supply coffee (or tea). Please bring your favourite brew. The coffee maker uses both Keurig K-cups, and ground coffee • The freezer makes ice. However, if you'd like to use the cooler provided, please pick up extra ice on your way • We supply the firewood (kindling & firestarter too) — Don’t forget the marshmallows! DETAILS • There is parking for up to 4 vehicles on the driveway only. No parking is allowed on the road or elsewhere on the property. • Please respect the 30 km speed limit when entering and exiting the community, and slow down further when you see children playing on the street. • We're located in a quiet community. It's very important to respect the community's desire for it to remain quiet. • Children are welcome! However, the house is not child-proofed. The fireplaces get extremely hot; safety gates and cribs are not provided. Children must never be left unattended; we are located directly on a body of water. • Pets are not allowed. • Smoking is not allowed inside the house. • All mattresses are enclosed in vinyl casings. • One set of linens is provided on each bed. • 2 towels per person per stay are provided. However, if you use self-tanning products, please bring your own towels. • Please bring beach towels for outdoor use. • Cleaning products, vacuum, brooms, etc., are provided for daily upkeep (no maid service provided). To keep the home looking nice, please clean up during your stay and before checking out. • The well water is monitored for safe consumption and is treated with a UV system, softened, and double-filtered. Drinking water and ice dispensed from the fridge are triple-filtered. • There's a public boat launch in Caesarea, just 5 minutes by car. Docking a boat, with a shallow draft, from the property is usually possible. However, because the lake level fluctuates, at times it can be too low. If you’re planning to dock your boat, please let us know and we can update you on the water level just before your visit, and confirm if the dock is in the water.
