Little Asgard - Coniston Holiday Cottage
Description
Little Asgard is a traditional slate cottage boasting stunning views from its elevated position over Coniston Water. Originally an old quarry worker's cottage, it's been extensively renovated in spring 2025 to a high standard, whilst retaining much of its original traditional character and charm. The cottage is a short walk up the hill from the centre of Coniston village. You can also enjoy many beautiful walks straight from the cottage. The space The front door leads to a small entrance hall, stairs and a door to the kitchen. The entire ground floor features attractive slate tiles. The kitchen is well equipped with an oak dining table, electric cooker, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The living room features two sofas, a wood burning stove and a 40” Smart TV (in guest-mode). There is a large door with a clear view of the lake that leads to the balcony. The balcony is the ideal place to admire Coniston Water whilst sipping coffee or evening drinks. The perfect place to relax after an invigorating walk. Upstairs the master bedroom features a king size bed, wardrobe and chest of draws, and another spectacular view of the lake. You will never wake up to a better view than this one. The luxury bathroom has a WC, sink, rainfall shower enclosure and towel rail. The second bedroom has two single beds, a chest of drawers and built-in cupboard. The property features smart electric heating, lots of hot water, and numerous power sockets with USB ports. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. Two well behaved dogs welcome. Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. No smoking, vaping or candles anywhere in the property. Guest access The cottage has self check in and out via a key-safe. Unless agreed otherwise check-in from 4pm, check-out by 10am on your day of departure. Access to the cottage is via a steep, twisty, single track lane to a parking area with allocated parking for one car only. Note the route and parking is NOT suitable for large / wide / long vehicles, such as camper or transit vans, nor sports cars with very low ground clearance. If bringing a second car, or a large vehicle, and also in extreme winter weather conditions, we recommend parking in the Old Station Car Park, or the wider roads down closer towards the village centre. Other things to note The walk back up to the cottage is steep so you might want to take it steady, but the reward for the elevation is the breathtaking view over the lake. Children and dogs should be supervised, particularly around the wood burning stove, the balcony and the garden. The garden is not enclosed. Dogs are very welcome but must be kept downstairs and off the furniture. There is no high chair or cot provided.
