Beautiful, lakeside shepherd's hut

Truly re-connect with nature at this unforgettable, unique lakeside shepherd's hut set in 8-acres of re-wilded beauty in Devon. Secluded & private, the Hedgehog Hideaway sits entirely alone. Full-size double bed, two-seater sofa, wood-burning stove, BBQ & fire pit, plus indoor & outdoor shower & a decked area. Free, natural toiletries, a camp stove and a welcome hamper are provided. AGreener Camping certified site and as such, membership is required to book. Membership costs £12 per year The space This custom-built insulated wooden hut is built for comfort and relaxation. A full-size double bed and comfy sofa await you - you can see the lake from both! With double glazed opening windows to the front and to the side and a woodburning stove for those chillier nights. The hut is equipped with all you might need, including: a fry pan a cookpot (both for use on the fire pit and BBQ - as well as your own stove if you bring one), utensils, crockery, cutlery, tin opener, bottle opener & corkscrew, cool box, ice packs, drinking water container, washing up bowl, hand towels, tea towels and bath mats, chopping board. fire lighter, natural fire-lighters, fuel for the fire (both inside and out), first aid box, fire blanket & extinguisher, umbrella, portable solar lights and of course the gorgeous, all natural toiletries and cleaners. There is an outside table and chair set on the decking, a rattan cushioned sofa and a small wooden bench by the firepit. We also provide a traditional pitcher and bowl if you prefer to have a wash rather than a shower, or brush your teeth. There are plenty of hooks to hang towels and or clothes and a drying rail outside to dry towels, swimsuits or washing. We have tried to think of everything. Guest access Guest have full access to the site, bar the house and domestic animal enclosures (pygmy goats, hens & ducks). There are mown paths that meander throughout the site and around the lake. We ask that guests stick to these paths for their own safety and the safety of the animals that live in the meadows and long grasses. Other things to note Parking is available at the house. Your luggage will be carried by barrow to your Home from home, upon arrival. We do not permit vehicles onto the rewilding areas. We also offer a hot breakfast delivered to your door for a small additional fee. Membership to the Greener Camping Co is required to book. This can be purchased on-site for £12 per year. Only one person per group is required to be a GCC member and you are able to join onsite upon arrival. A 100 refundable damages deposit is required before, or upon arrival. This will be refunded to you within 24 hours of your checkout, provided there are no additional costs incurred. Details for deposit payment will be supplied once booking is confirmed.
