Description

Welcome to my mid-century modern styled two bedroom Cotswolds home - a 19th century former coach house for the Manor. My large but cosy cottage has bags of character and charm - with high ceilings, wood burner and swathes of natural light. The quiet, beautiful village of Stratton Audley has the Red Lion pub and Stratton Audley Barn with its cosy cafe. Bicester Shopping Village (10 mins by car), Silverstone F1 (20 mins), Oxford (30 mins) and of course the wonderful Cotswolds are all nearby. The space As a former coach house the cottage has been converted with a rustic rural charm and is perfect for a relaxing countryside getaway. The vast (with very high ceilings - needed to be for the coaches!) open plan living room (including a wood burning stove for the winter months) has loads of natural light, comfy sofas, books and a record player - the perfect place to settle down for a good read or a glass of wine and some music. The equally high ceiling'd kitchen and dining area is spacious and has all the facilities for long lunches and lazy evening suppers. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms, both with double beds with views over the courtyard and village. One bedroom has an ensuite shower room and toilet and there is a separate bathroom too. In the mornings you may just hear the church bells ringing and the horses passing by. In the living room the sofa is a comfy double bed should additional guests (additional fee) want to stay. The property has two front door entrances via the quaint courtyard full of pot plants, herbs and ferns - and a little seating area for an evening drink. There is high speed internet which works perfectly in every room. I really hope you will enjoy your stay in my home and can't wait to welcome you! Guest access Guests will have access to the whole house. Parking is off-road on the gravelled mews path that leads to the cottage. A car is necessary for getting around, though there are local taxi companies in Bicester. The cottage is located in the middle of the village. There are some lovely local walks on public footpaths and bridleways. As mentioned above there is a village pub and also a cafe coffee shop. Bicester is down the road and Stratton Audley is a gateway village to the Cotswolds with Stow-on-the-wold, Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water are within a 40-50 minute driving distance as are Daylesford Farm, Soho Farmhouse, Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Cotswolds Distillery and Hook Norton Brewery. Oxford and Blenheim Palace also nearby and for F1 fans Silverstone is only 20 mins away! I also highly recommend Forge Coffee in Evenley for the best barista coffee (they know their stuff!) outside of London! Access by train is via Bicester North or Bicester Village, 45 mins from London Marylebone. Other things to note Ideally this would suit a maximum 4 adults. No children please. Minimum stay is 2 nights. Please message for longer stay availability. Fee for each additional guest after 2 guests is £100 per night.
