Relax at the Halsey House (c. 1829) in Suite 4. This stately Greek Revival-style Victorian has a king bed, en suite bath, sofa, desk, waterfall fireplace. Located on the southern edge of Trumansburg you will be 1 mile to Taughannock Falls State Park, 8 miles to Ithaca, Cornell, the hospital, and wineries galore to the north and west. Common spaces open to guests, LR, DR, parlor, kitchen, patio, porch. Across the street is a footpath to the stream that feeds the Falls, bring your swimsuit! Old world architecture with modern finishes makes the Halsey House feel special but not stuffy. High ceilings, wonderful moldings, wide plank floors, this girl was built to last- almost 200 years old! Guests welcome to use living and dining rooms, parlor, kitchen, porch and patio. Trumansburg is a charming town with quick access to many of the nearby treasures including Cayuga Lake and Taughannock Falls State Park, several award winning wineries, Cornell and IC, farmer’s markets, music in the parks, Hangar Theatre and terrific nearby restaurants (e.g. Atlas, Garrett's, Little Venice, Hazelnut, Inn at Taughannock). Within an hour’s drive you can enjoy the Corning Glass Museum to the south, the Women’s Rights National Park and Museum in Seneca Falls to the north; Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake to the west; and Syracuse University and the Strong Museum of Play to the northeast. We also make a great home base for special family gatherings such as reunions and weddings (ask about renting the whole house!). We are 5 miles to Cayuga Medical, so if you are in need of longer-term accommodations (e.g. visiting nurse, PA or patients) we offer discounts on weekly rate. You need a car but bikers have access to the Black Diamond Trail which takes you into Ithaca, about 8.5 miles away. You can rack the bike on the 21 bus if you are too tired to ride back! You can get Uber service but it’s slow. This room is on the second floor so you have to climb a flight of stairs.
