This secluded property features a 2750 sf house on 5 rural acres perched on a high mesa. In addition to 4 beds there is 1 queen futon. National Forest surrounds the neighborhood and trailheads to the Weminuche Wilderness lie up the road. Enjoy ready access to skiing, hiking, fishing, big game hunting, snowmobiling, and horseback riding. Relax with a soak and massage at 3 world-renowned hot spring spas in town. NOTE: Wolf Creek Ski Area is 29 miles. The space The master bedroom on the third floor commands a sweeping view of the San Juan Mountains where you can also star gaze from the king size bed. The second bedroom on the lower level has a queen and an antique double bed, and a mix of antique and rustic furnishings. The cozy third bedroom has an heirloom queen size bed. Both lower level bedrooms also have mountain views. There are extra pillows, sheets, and blankets in the downstairs utility room. Also on the lower level is a sitting room and secondary entertainment area with Roku TV, premium channels, couch and a wood-burning stove. All 3 bathrooms were remodeled and feature large custom tiled showers. The great room on the main floor has massive views of the mountains and a 60" TV with Roku and a variety of premium channels beneath soaring cathedral ceilings. Watch the big game or premium movies from the large, curving sectional leather sofa with a huge ottoman. Under the TV you'll find a DVD player and a collection of movies, many of which were filmed in the area. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, Instant Pot, Crock Pot, blender, microwave, plenty of dishes and silverware. It even has a junk drawer. The dining area has a fabulous mountain view from the custom made hardwood table and chairs with seating for 8. An additional 4 swivel chairs offer additional dining space at the granite counter. You are welcome to the many spices and pantry items. In the pantry you will also find an assortment of boards games and playing cards. Upstairs you will find the office area with a desk, desk chair, computer monitor, printer and a comfortable queen futon overlooking the great room. We have furnished the house with a variety of maps and guidebooks help find all the delights of Pagosa Country. The house is decorated in rustic western style that says, "THIS is Colorado!" Guest access You have full access to the entire house and the wrap-around deck, as well as the 5 acres on top of Flatiron Mesa. Timber benches and a picnic table surround the firepit out front, which of course has mind-blowing mountain views. Directly across the road is a piece of National Forest land, and there is a gate in the backside of the neighborhood into the San Juan National Forest. Other things to note You will be very close to hiking opportunities in Piedra River Canyon, Ice Caves Ridge, Piedra Falls, Weminuche Wilderness trails. High mountain Williams Creek Reservoir surrounded by Continental Divide peaks has legendary fishing for trout and kokonee salmon. If you're feeling adventurous, we can direct you to a wilderness hot spring that is not widely known. CAUTION: Clothing optional.
