On the banks of the St. Lawrence River

Ancestral house from 1865 located on the riverfront in Saint-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans. The view is breathtaking, life is punctuated by the waves and the passing boats. The house is located on the beach, so no road, no noise and long walks on the beach await you! The space The house dates from 1856, it has 3 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, large shaded terrace, bbq ... outside it is a large garden with feet in the water with a fire pit for the campfire and the evening marshmallows under the stars. The village of Saint-Jean is superb with its old houses, its authentic style. The Midinette bakery and the "Bistro du hangar" brasserie are in the village, so everything is within walking distance, and getting croissants on foot in the morning is pretty awesome :) Note that there is no air conditioning, so some days can be hot in the summer. No pets allowed. Guest access The house is directly in front of the beach, to get there you have to leave the asphalt road and drive on the beach a hundred meters. At the edge of the river, life is punctuated by the tides, so this path is inaccessible by high tide... you will then be blocked on the island for a few hours, it's poetic! In winter, the road is cleared of snow, but it is not salted. So if you have a 4-wheel drive you won't have any difficulties, but with a front-wheel drive or if you lack practice driving on Quebec roads we advise you to park in front of the church which is 100 m away. Other things to note All the maritime traffic passes under the windows, it's quite magical! You can track the passage of cargo ships and other boats in real time on free mobile apps. It is a quiet and peaceful place, but it is not an environment for partying with friends; we want to welcome respectful people who want rest and well-being by the river. The house is connected to a well with an ultraviolet lamp system and reverse osmosis filtering, so the water is pure.
