Description
Enjoy the peace of a by-gone era and 'get off the grid' in a minimalist cottage. Little Green cottage is the original farmhouse of Baralan Estate. The quaint 3 bedroom stay caters for 4 people and is situated between the rolling green hills and crystal blue ocean of the Far South Coast. Baralan ruminates a minimalist original farm cottage with a modern infusion. Picture camping, but in a cosy, well furnished cottage - glamping style. The space Baralan Cottage was built in 1930 and is located upon 350acres of farm land. Indoors you'll find 3 bedrooms with 2x single beds and 1 x queen, a living room, kitchen and dining area + 1 small bathroom and an adjoining toilet. Outdoors you have a washing line and small fire pit to sit by of an evening and roast some marshmallows, drink tea, whittle some wood or read a book amongst the pristine back drop of green hills and the oyster farms down the road. Our newest addition to the outdoor area is a wood fire pizza oven where you can cook up a feast. Keeping in mind the age of Baralan cottage, the spaces are stripped back and simple, but with some finely crafted handmade furniture and local artists pieces so you feel like you’re glamping in a cosy cottage. Baralan is Yuin/Djiringanji Country and lies approximately half way between the coastal towns of Bermagui and Tathra, both of which deserve a visit. We also recommend stopping in either of these towns for the basics cause once you’re at the farm it can be hard to leave. Guest access The Farm is your oyster so to speak, so please enjoy exploring it. The Farm is home to two other dwellings who are permanent residents so please just keep this in mind while enjoying the space. The Farm sheds and equipment are not for guest use. Baralan is home to some retired race horses and many native animals. There is a natural path that travels to the back of the farm which guests are welcome to explore and see some of the tree plantations planted for koala regeneration programmes post bushfires - you might get lucky and spot a koala. Please feel free to roam the paddocks but make sure all gates are closed and do not approach horses unless they approach you. The main road into the farm is sealed. Once on the farm we do ask you go by foot, so make sure you bring some gumboots cause it can get quite muddy. Other things to note Pets are welcome at Baralan but as stated above it is home to horses and lots of native wildlife, (including some very large kangaroos). We do not take any responsibility for pets at Baralan so please just keep this in mind when thinking about bringing your furry friends. Registration Details PID-STRA-35403
