Description

Set in one of the most remote parts of North Yorkshire - our cosy, romantic shepherd's hut takes full advantage of its exceptional location and staggering views. Switch off and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, including some of the most remarkable sunrises. You’ll be just off the Nidderdale Way, with breath taking walks and rides from the doorstep. We’re looking forward to making your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The space Our hut is modelled on the traditional shepherd’s living van that would have made a familiar sight in many regions of rural England during the 1800s. Enjoy the tradition with all the luxury of a fully equipped kitchen including hob, microwave, fridge, Smeg toaster and Espresso coffee machine - the very definition of glamorous glamping. With en-suite shower room and toilet, you can be sure to stay cosy with under floor heating as well as a small wood burning stove. The hut also has a smart TV along with Wifi access…but we'd be happy to turn this off should you wish to be totally 'off grid'! Local pubs are found in Lofthouse and Middlesmoor, both serving good food and only a five-minute drive or twenty minute walk away. The Sportsman’s Arms pub is also located close by in Wath or Where there’s Smoke restaurant in Masham serving local produce cooked over smouldering coals. There are cafés in the local attractions of How Stean Gorge and Studfold, with plenty of activities to be found there too. And should you wish to access some extra pampering during your stay we can recommend www.tula-uk dot com for a variety of restorative treatments, feel free to ask us for more details. The hut has a privately dedicated outdoor area along with fire pit and we can also provide a bbq should you wish to use one. Small logs are provided for the internal stove, but please feel free to bring charcoal or logs for the fire pit, or they can be purchased from How Stean Gorge just down the road from us. Guest access We have plenty of easy parking and all the information you'll need for your stay will be provided ahead of your arrival. Should you have any other questions we're always available to ask and will be very happy to help. Other things to note We host as a family and you'll be welcomed by all of us - Ashley and Hannah, our two young boys as well as Hector the Clumber spaniel and our two friendly cats, Doombar and Peebo! Please note, we are unable to accept dogs due to our own pets and our close proximity to livestock. A breakfast hamper of milk, bread, butter and jams will be waiting for you on arrival and we provide plenty of coffee, tea and sugar. We're a twenty-minute drive from Pateley Bridge or a twenty-five-minute drive from the market town of Masham for all your other needs. As we’re in a very remote and rural location there may be adverse weather from time to time, as well as the normal joys of countryside living like mud and midges! We are at the end of a farm track which may not be suitable for very low vehicles. We also have a small studio that can accommodate two people and is also available through Airbnb. /h/suttillhousestudio We're happy to store bikes if required.
