Byre Cottage is a cosy & characterful abode set on a traditional Lakeland hill farm overlooking the beautiful Woodland Valley near Coniston in the Lake District Lovingly reconstructed from the original 17th century byre, the cottage offers cosy yet comfortable rooms with rustic exposed beams, log fires and countryside views. Sleeping 6 guests it is a great base for families, outdoor enthusiasts,and those wishing to simply switch off from the busy day-to-day. The space Ground Floor Traditional Lakeland porch opens into entrance hall, from here guests can access the cosy cottage sitting & dining room complete with Lakeland stone fireplace, Tv, Dvd & Cd player. French windows open from the sitting room to the rear paved garden, offering panoramic views over the Woodland valley. Just off the sitting room is the kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker, fridge/freezer & washer/dryer. There is also a small shower room with WC on the ground floor. The yard to the front of the cottage is perfectly positioned to catch the midday and evening sun, from here you are welcome to sit, relax & simply watch the world go by. First floor Bedroom 1 - double bed Bedroom 2 - double bed Bedroom 3 - twin single beds House bathroom with bath only & WC. Outside The cottage enjoys shared access to a delightfully private paved garden, offering an abundance of outside seating, undisturbed views and plenty of space for the little ones to play. This area is perfect for summer BBQ's, reflective moments and morning coffees. Footpaths from the farm give direct access onto the nearby hills & across the valley. There is open access to the neighbouring field, perfect for tiring out your canine companion (The owner Peter will let you know which field is best). Should you be looking to explore the surrounding trails and byways on two wheels then secure indoor storage can be organised with Peter, suitable for mountain bikes, canoes & dinghies. Facilities included WiFi, bed linen, towels & initial fuel for the fire. Available to hire Travel cot & high chair. Extra coal/logs by arrangement. Parking Parking available for several cars. Property Notes The farmyard, whilst quiet in nature is home to a family of hens, ducks, a cockerel, farm cats & working dogs. Sheep and cattle also graze in the fields nearby, offering many a photo opportunity. Private water supply.
