Description

Relax, create or adventure with family and friends at this peaceful rural alpine retreat. Two rustic cabins next to each other on a 30 acre bush property with stunning views over the Megalong Valley. Close to BlackHeath (30mins), Lithgow (25 mins), Jenolan caves (15mins) and bike trails, this property has plenty to do and see or space to relax and be. Set up for families with active children or creatives seeking a tranquil retreat, The Cloud House Hampton can accomodate a wide variety of guests. The space Booking with The Cloud House includes full private use of the property and exclusive private use of both of the two rustic cabins. Recently refurbished over the summer of 2024, both cabins comfortably sleep 10 guests. The Cloud House is stunning in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, each season with its benefits! Beautiful blue skies, bursts of flowers covering the mountains and cool enough for evening fires, spring and early summer are a great time for outdoor exploring and making the most of the wide verandah. Summer boasts warm lazy days great for BBQ’s and bike riding. Winter and Autumn for hot chocolate by one of the two fireplaces. The main cabin has a lounge/ dining room with views over the valley, a long rustic timber deck for outdoor dining or lounging, a log fireplace, full kitchen with coffee machine, bathroom with a shower and two bedrooms; one with a king bed and second with a single bed. An additional bathing option being an outdoor cast iron claw foot bath, boasts views across the gardens and valleys with hot and cold running water for steamy baths on misty mornings. The fireplace will come with kindling, firelighters and logs for the Winter months, as well as info on "how to start fires". Additional logs are at the back (kitchen) door and include lighter coloured wood from the property for burning during the day, and a red coloured hardwood (purchased off-site) for burning over night (or if it is really cold!). The living room also has a gas heater that warms the space quickly if the fire has gone out overnight. In the main cabin, a creative nook with acrylic and watercolour paints and paper, clay for making ceramic pots or sculptures, artist paper and pencils for creatives (adults and kids) wanting to make the most of the views and tranquility sits behind in the front door. Guests can bring the water colour paints out onto the large rustic table on the deck to paint the valley or misty landscapes, or set up the clay indoors on the long indoor table for making pinch pots and small sculptures. The clay is kept in the cupboard in the single room. Paints and brushes in the basket in the main bedroom. Other jewellery making and rock painting crafts in the wicker drawers in the lounge room. The second cabin has a large rumpus room beneath it in the double garage, with leather lounge, 55inch TV with USB Port, toys for kids, large Nectre Mega fireplace and plenty of room for playing or hanging out. There are also two single foam and two air mattresses we can make available at our guests request, suitable if kids choose to sleep out together down stairs in the rumpus room. Upstairs are 4 cosy alpine bedrooms with pitched roof and exposed beams. Bedrooms one and two have queen beds, bedroom three has a double bed and four has a single bed. All bedrooms have electric oil heaters. A seperate shower room and toilet room are also upstairs in cabin two, off the main hallway. This second cabin also has a washing machine and dryer upstairs, available for guest use. Guests will enjoy full bedding including Eco Downunder organic flannel, cotton or linen sheets depending on the season, wool blankets, feather doonas and extra throws and wool blankets for comfort and warmth. Bath linen is also provided for all guests. The kitchen includes a bread maker, Sunbeam coffee espresso machine, a pantry stocked with essentials (spices, oils for cooking, basics like pasta and canned beans/ tomatoes, ground coffee - a must!). Please collect your own groceries and fresh veg/ fruit and dairy before heading to the property (the green grocer at Blackheath is great if coming from Sydney but check opening hours!). The property has extensive trails for riding. There are also mountain bike trails through Oberon State forest that adjoins the property (message us if you’d like more info). There are a number of refreshing places to swim in summer nearby including Cox's River and Hyde Park Waterhole. THERE IS WIFI at The Cloud House provided through a Telstra Dongle. Mobile Phone coverage can fluctuate pending the weather. The nearby Telstra tower has been recently upgraded with 5G so if you mobile phone carrier is Telstra you are in luck! Please get in touch if you are looking for early check in or late check out. The property is accessible through a normal driveway - no 4wd is required! Follow us at #thecloudhouse_hampton Guest access Guests have access to the whole property and both cabins and rumpus area. Other things to note Both cabins require access through external stairs.
