Our musta mokki (Finnish black cabin) is the perfect place for your Keweenaw vacation! This brand-new Scandinavian modern design waterfront home is conveniently located right outside Hancock on the snowmobile/ATV trail and the portage canal. Minutes away from Mont Ripley Ski Hill, Michigan Tech University, local cross-country ski trails, the Houghton Co. Airport, and Lake Superior, this home has all you need to enjoy the amazing outdoor landscape of the Copper Country! The space New construction modern Scandinavian designed single family home. Open floor plan kitchen/dining/great room, 3 separate bedrooms with lockable doors, two full bathrooms, one laundry/utility room, entryway/mudroom, attached heated large two car garage. Rent our other 2 bedroom/1 bath home on the same property for a big group vacation! Snowmobile trailer parking is a quick half-mile down the highway at DB Motorsports in the upper lot right off the highway. We can’t have trailers parked in the driveway for snow removal purposes and vehicles maneuvering the driveways for both houses on our property. We provide enough essentials (toilet paper, paper towel, hand soap, etc) to get you started, but guests are responsible for any further supplies needed for their stay. Guest access The entire single family home and garage is private for guests, as well as the outdoor patio, path down to the waterfront and waterfront property. The dock is shared with our other rental property. Other things to note We grew up in Hancock and have been living in Chicago for the past 20 years, but the Keweenaw holds a special place in our hearts. We return with our kids each year for 2 weeks in the summer and 2 weeks in the winter and have been dreaming of having our own home in the area for over a decade. This dream has finally come true and we feel incredibly blessed to be able to share it with others that want to experience the one-of-a-kind beauty of the Copper Country!
