Description

Inspired by the tiny house movement, this minute cabin is micro-living at its best. It is a cleverly designed + endearing little refuge, with a mini mezzanine floor, set underneath a huge liquid amber tree. Its like being in a cabin in the woods, except its on a well connected road in an upmarket + safe neighbourhood, close to places of interest and beauty in Cape Town. The natural wood, white + black, with filament bulb lighting creates a very beautiful colour palette and romantic atmosphere. The space The mattresses are single cotton futon mattresses (two on the mini mezzanine and two downstairs) covered in exquisite t-shirt material bedding from The T Shirt Bed Co. and pure cotton and/or down duvets. You are welcome to choose your most comfortable sleeping spot. Children and shorter folk may prefer the mezzanine, while taller folk, the downstairs beds. The bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet. The kitchen has an induction hob with some pots and pans, a toaster and kettle. The property features a house which my husband, two children, labrador and golden retriever and I stay in. There is also a studio apartment between the cabin and the house which is letted out on short-term/Airbnb lease. The cabin is connected to, but separate from the studio. We ask that cabin, studio and house residents be mindful of not making noise. Guest access There is a communal driveway with safe parking, and easy access to the cabin. Other things to note The cabin is on a fairly busy road but having lived in it myself, and being sound sensitive I dont find it to be a problem. At night the shutters can be closed for noise reduction. Traffic sounds die down after about 10pm. The only other sounds you will hear are the birds and the gentle creaking of the cabin. It is a soothing space to be in.
