I recommend to bring insect repellant lotion like off lotion. -If you wish to immerse yourself with the locals, I highly recommend to join fishing with the community early morning around 5am or 6am. You may want to experience "pukot" it is a type of fishing wherein the fish net is thrown out into shallow water and then hauled back in with a payload of fish.
