Other things to note Prescott is not just for cowboys: It's famous for Whiskey Row and the Rodeo, but it also hosts art festivals, music festivals, bicycle races, and spectacular holiday festivities. It’s known for 400 miles of hiking trails, through woods and Dells, with several lakes for kayaking. Downtown is full of antique stores, art galleries, and boutiques of all kinds. There's fine dining to rival Big City restaurants, but with lower prices. The weather is wonderful, year-round. When Phoenix is 120 degrees, Prescott is in the mid-90s, with evening mountain breezes for comfortable sleeping. At 5000 feet, we have deep blue skies and crisp, clean air. Summer monsoons offer spectacular lightning shows and bring in cool air. Winters are typically mild. We grew up in New England and spent decades in California, but Prescott has won our hearts: It’s the best of all worlds.
