Newly updated 2200 square foot lakefront cabin with amazing views from every room, a private boat dock and relaxing swimmers cove! Two minute drive or 7 minute walk to the Pines Resort, 15 minutes to Oakhurst and just 16 miles to the South entrance of Yosemite. Take in beautiful sunsets on the large deck and enjoy the warm lake water in the summer months. Two masters with king beds and 6 twin beds upstairs make this a perfect place for families and friends to get together and enjoy beautiful Bass Lake, hiking trails, mountain biking and various winter activities. The kitchen and living room are spacious and all rooms enjoy views of the lake. A bbq and plenty of seating and tables on the deck overlooking the lake make for great entertaining and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. 3 1/2 baths including two en suite with double sinks are plenty to handle guest needs. Simply walk off the top deck and down to the lake to the private boat dock, where you can tie up your boat or take a swim. Boat launching is available at the Pines Resort and across the lake (public launch). In the winter, enjoy the beautiful serenity of the area and avoid the crowds. Find a sled hill when it snows, visit Yosemite (beautiful in the winter!), take a hike or just enjoy the warmth of the lakefront cabin in front of the fireplace. We are also only 1 hour to Badger Pass and 1 1/2 hours from China Peak ski resorts. The cabin features a whole home generator in case of power outages in the area (works everything except AC when the power grid is out), and central air and heat to keep the house cool during summer and warm during winter and snow season. The living room is equipped with a new smart TV (Netflix, YouTube TV, Apple TV and Hulu available- personal subscriptions required) and comfortable seating. Bedding, sheets, towels, toilet paper, paper towels and soaps/shampoos are provided for our guests. A washer and dryer are also available for guest use. Please bring your own beach towels. Parking is available for up to 4 cars and may be impacted by the size of your vehicle. Instructions regarding boat launching and trailer parking would be included in your welcome/check-in message shortly before checking in. Coming soon: A fully remodeled upper deck overlooking the lake, new lower decks, and newly added living and entertainment space below (not part of our current listing). Construction on the decks will be complete by June 1. Newly added lower interior space will not be available until sometime after summer 2024. No construction activities will occur during rentals and all construction debris will be removed prior to June 1. We hope you enjoy our home away from home! Some think of Bass Lake, the pine-trimmed reservoir about a half-hour’s drive south of Yosemite National Park’s south entrance, as a smaller version of Lake Tahoe. But the little lake with the big alpine feel has an appealing difference from its high-country cousin: Bass Lake’s elevation is only 3,400 feet, so its surface waters become blissfully warm in summer, hovering around 75°F. While the nearly 5-mile-long lake is a popular destination for water skiing, wakeboarding, and wave runners, it also has sheltered coves for swimming and for sailing, as well as kayaking and pedal boating (boat and gear rentals are available). Bring or rent fishing gear or hire a local guide to snag bass, rainbow trout, Kokanee salmon, and more (a California fishing license is required for ages 16 and above). Dozens of trails lead into the surrounding Sierra National Forest, so there’s plenty to explore by foot or mountain bike. Start with the Way of the Mono Trail, named for the Mono people who inhabited the area for millennia. The short (0.6-mile) loop takes you to the top of a rock with great views, with a few chances to try some bouldering if you are up for it. Or get more of a workout on the way to your view on the challenging 5-mile up-and-back hike to Goat Mountain Fire Lookout. Another rewarding, moderately difficult hike is the three-mile Willow Creek Trail, which takes you to Angel Falls and offers plenty of opportunities to go swimming. Please check lake levels on basslake.ca prior to booking and/or departure. Our dock is generally floating at 10 feet below full lake level, as are most docks on the lake. PG&E controls the lake levels and no refunds are provided if lake levels aren't to your satisfaction.
