King's Haven at Stone Chalet Bed and Breakfast Inn

The space Be amazed by the craftsmanship and creative designs that went into this historic home plus 2 later additions that were designed by Ann Arbor’s first modern architect. We try to fill every nook and cranny with a dose of charm and imagination that makes for an unforgettable experience. In addition to your room itself, you’ll want to spend time exploring the surrounding property gardens in the warmer months. Take advantage of our Gazebo Garden area with a cup of coffee or tea and allow the towering ivory covered walls to capture your imagination. Escape the ordinary, disconnect and join us for a low-tech, relaxing retreat. Feed your imagination and join us at the Enchanted Inn! We hope to make your stay MAGICAL. This Ann Arbor historic bed & breakfast private residence is minutes away from The University of Michigan. There are 11 bedrooms total and for guests wishing to rent all of the rooms there is potential for hosting up to 30 people if several guests cohabitate. Some rooms have 2 or 3 beds, we have several king beds, a couple queen, in addition to twin and fulls. The Parsonage portion in the back of the house has 7 lovely bedrooms, including 3 easily accessible on the first floor and 4 upstairs. The Main House contains the formal dining room on the first floor right off of the kitchen, as well as the Porch room (and Bridal Suite) on the second floor, along with the Veranda and Cuckoo’s up on the third floor. The Parsonage area is connected on the back of the house through the kitchen. Please watch your step as you walk through this junction of the home as there is a step down into the kitchen. Free wifi, free toiletries, free street parking. Bathroom comes outfitted with travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap and towels, as well as a larger bath wash in the shower. 2 BEDS: There is one XL custom made full bed with magnificent carved claw feet that is very high off the ground with a step stool and a twin daybed. An XL full is as long as a king bed and as wide as a full. BATHROOM: This private bathroom has a tiled shower. The ceiling is low and sloped in the bathroom. Watch your head if you are tall. FURNITURE: There are two wing back chairs, a glass top table plus a small round table to work at. HEAT and A/C: A gas fireplace heats the room and a mini-split cools the room. WINDOWS: A bay window faces the pond and yard area. Casement windows with screens, cellular shades cover the windows and door has a sheer. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is one of the largest rooms. It has vaulted ceilings and a door to the shared balcony (with Ramparts) and a beautiful view overlooking the frog pond. Guest access This is a private home we love to share with travelers! We have several common areas and gardens for guest use. If you have a small or large event, we have spaces for rent for birthdays, weddings, reunions, business meetings and more! Other things to note The innkeeper may or not be there when you arrive. Self-check-in procedure starts at 4pm. Check out time is 11 am. For early arrivals and late check outs please schedule ahead of time, fees may apply. Need help from and to the DTW airport? DTW airport shuttle service is now available as an add on to all room reservations. Please call us at least 2 days prior to your arrival. COVID Policy: Unvaccinated people are required to wear masks in all public areas except while eating; vaccinated people, your choice. If you are feeling sick or have been exposed to Covid or a person with Covid please reschedule your reservation with us. Breakfast times are 7, 8 or 9, please let us know your preference. There are no TVs in rooms and No Smoking on the property. Our rooms are decorated in themes, please do not take any items with you when you leave, including our pens, as some items are sentimental and/or irreplaceable. Enjoy the room and the items but please respectfully leave items upon exit. Breakfast BREAKFAST is served daily in the Formal Dining Room. You'll find the menu in your room when you arrive (bed or table), or slid under the door before 7pm if we haven't had a chance to make them yet. You'll receive a new one daily for the duration of your stay. To limit food waste we only serve items a guest requests for breakfast, which is a pretty large hefty meal if all items are chosen. You can check out some of our photos on our website of these full course meals! Please circle your breakfast selections and leave your menu on the fireplace mantle in the Parsonage by midnight. Please remember, we're willing and able to accommodate most dietary restrictions and preferences; just let us know in advance. We have a vegan menu along with gluten free options available to guests. CELEBRATING SOMETHING SPECIAL? We'd love to know if you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or any other milestone before you arrive. We've got wine glasses, champagne flutes and wine buckets available upon request. We also offer special add-ons like flowers or chocolates for an additional fee, and if you want something we don't offer, we'll do our best to make it happen. Issues, Problems or Anything You Need If there is something not quite right, you need an ironing board, want some ice or wine bottle opener, can't find the WiFi code, need extra shampoo or towels, baby bed or anything else, please let us know right away so we can help you. We have a Forget-Me-Not mini mart set up in the hallway of the Parsonage to purchase items you have forgotten or snack you might enjoy, or bath bombs and face masks to make your stay more pampered. It is an honor system and we appreciate you supporting our family run business. If you have children please remind them to not take items from the market. Please note that there is no smoking of any kind allowed inside any guest room, bathroom or building or on the facility grounds. Smoking in guest rooms will incur a Smoking Damage Cleaning Fee of $250 plus tax non-refundable charge. Outdoor smoking bins near the sidewalks are available for use. Regular room bookings: Cancel your reservation at least 3 days before check-in at no charge. Cancellations made after that are fully charged for up to 3 days max depending of time of cancellation or no-show. Bookings Via Expedia, Hotels.com, booking.com, TripAdvisor or similar? You need to cancel the reservation at that site to avoid charges. We cannot cancel those types of reservations for you, however we can charge you. Group guest room reservations ( Group reservations are those that are guaranteed by one person for three or more rooms): Payment: $530 none refundable deposit is required to reserve rooms and dates. Full Payment required at 60 days before check-in. Cancellations: 60 days prior to arrival, loss of deposit. Cancel after 60 days to check-in for refund provided the room is re-booked less a 25% handling fee in addition. Football Weekend Reservations Payment: $100 none refundable reservation deposit is required to reserve the rooms and dates. Full payment is taken 30 days prior to check in. Cancellations: Cancel within 30 days to check-in for refund provided the room is re-booked less a 25% handling fee. Graduation Weekend Reservations Payment: A non-refundable $500 deposit is required for all graduation weekend reservations. Your card will be charged $500 plus tax when the reservation is made. Full payment is due the first week of Jan of the graduation year. Cancellation: Cancel by January 5th for refund less the required $500 deposit. Cancel after January 5th, for refund provided the room is re-booked less a 25% handling fee. Invalid Payment Information Invalid payment information will result in a cancelled reservation. Attempts will be made to contact booker to correct the payment method using email and phone number provided. If booker cannot be contacted, reservation will be cancelled. No entry instructions provided if payment information is invalid.
