The RUSTY NAIL: a Mountain Paradise
Nestled deep in the heart of Big Cottonwood canyon, resting on the bank of the river’s edge is “The Rusty Nail Cabin”. Step back into time and experience the charm of the original 1940’s cabin, with its solid pine walls, refurbished antique stove & hand built wood bar. The space Completely re-constructed in 2012 from reclaimed 130 year old barn timbers, the current cabin is a hand crafted architectural wonder tucked into a grove of pine and quakes. Lofted ceilings, clad in weathered barn wood planks, lends a feel of rustic warmth and you’ll want to keep an eye out the bank of windows overlooking both forest and river so as not to miss a quick visit from our moose and deer neighbors! In the summer, head down to the creek right in the back yard and spend the evening telling stories around the camp fire pit. Drag your chair to the creeks edge and dangle your toes in the cool mountain stream after a long day of mountain biking or climbing. That evening, sleep with the windows open, under the poufy down comforter and let the sound of the river lull you to sleep. In the winter, watch the greatest snow on earth fall by the meter out those same windows as you sink into the leather couch in front of the toasty fireplace after an epic day in the world famous Utah powder. We average over 500” of snow a year here..it’s like magic! There is a loft so cool, even the adults will be fighting over who gets to sleep up there, a chair lift inside, an Aspen tree in the shower, heated floors and you will never run out of hot water with our tank less system. Come see for yourself and make our history, part of your own! Guest access In summer, ride your mountain bike right from the cabin to the single track trails at Solitude mountain or take a quick drive up over Guardsman Pass to Deer Valley/Park City to access the hundreds of miles of single track riding. In the winter, ski touring begins right from the front door. For Alpine skiers & snowboarders a short drive or quick bus ride takes you right to the base of Solitude or Brighton ski areas. Other things to note November-May: 4x4 or AWD vehicles ONLY!!!!! Make sure your tires are good too. Bring your own music as there is a nice sound system with a hook up for your phone or ipod. The internet is slow at times so bring some movies on DVD just in case Netflix won't load.
