Description

Enjoy a relaxing experience at this centrally-located place - a stroll away from vibrant St Benedict's Street with its variety of cafes, pubs, quirky shops and renowned Art Centre. It's ideal for the budget if you're working or holidaying in Norwich, having an interview, or visiting people. I have 2 rooms, but only one parking ticket, so it's only suitable for a foot passenger, I'm afraid. Do ask (car driver) if it's a last minute booking - the other room mightn't be booked. The space My home is not far from the Golden Triangle, but it's more urban and multicultural here. The maisonette is situated along a row of maisonettes; it's surprisingly quiet, especially at night. People are friendly and it's very safe. I've worked hard in the last year to recreate the cosiness and vibrancy of my previous home (we moved in May 2021) and finally feel it's been achieved. So, when you arrive, my hope is that you find it a bright and welcoming space you are happy to use as a base for whatever the reason it happens to be that has brought you to this fine city! The single bedroom is a nice size, looking onto the garden and towards the Anglican cathedral. I grew up in North Norfolk, so know the coast there very well. Thus, I should be more than happy to assist any traveller with information and ideas about a trip or two out to the North Norfolk coast.. Even on public transport, it will only take about an hour and a half to reach Sheringham or Cromer from here. Driving there is a doddle, timewise. Great Yarmouth is about the same travel time on the train or bus (1 hour) if you like the thought of crazy golf, candy floss and a trip to Time and Tide (a fantastic museum - I love it). I frequently travel on buses and find the Norfolk buses plentiful and reliable. Trains are a little more expensive. Nevertheless, they are frequent and reliable.... Guest access Kitchen, living room, garden, downstairs toilet, stairs, landing, bathroom, bedroom During your stay I enjoy socialising and will be friendly and welcoming; however, I'm aware that when people are away from home they like to have the privacy of their room in which to unwind and relax, so I just let people get on with whatever they need to do without being in any way intrusive. I'm just there if you need me, if you see what I'm saying... You are free to spend time in the living room and garden if you want more space. Food If you tell me in advance, I can put a baked potato in the oven for you. I'm currently sorting out some one pot dishes for the freezer; you can have a choice of one of these if you'd prefer: all in one fish, chickpea and spinach stew; chickpea, potato and turmeric curry; Ghanaian chicken and peanut stew; spiced cauliflower and red lentil dahl; chilli con carne... Other things to note This is very well situated for the city and the restaurants and pubs of Dereham Road, St. Benedict's Street, the city Centre and Unthank Road/ Golden Triangle area: it's the definition of central as most places people want to visit or work in are equidistant from this area. It's also a fab budget base from which to explore the joys of the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. If you want a few days out of London or a big city and to save on accommodation costs, look no further! From July, whilst at work supply teaching, I'll be back from work at about 4pm and cleaning the room then so, although I have a lockbox, I'd prefer guests who are able to check in after 5pm - 6pm. It's really ideal for working people who need reasonably priced accommodation for a night or two... However, during the last two weeks of August/start of September, I'll be around, and a longer stay will be possible. You can also check in earlier in the day. Also - if you wish to stay here after a nightshift, please please message me in advance! It might be possible but if another guest is due that evening, it most probably won't be... It is worth asking - however, please do not assume that it will be. Thank you!
