Welcome to The Hazelnut! The house is located in a peaceful neighborhood, 1/2 mile to 696 & I-75 hwys, and only an 8-15 minute drive to downtown Detroit, Royal Oak, Ferndale & most of Metro Detroit. When you're staying at the Hazelnut, wake up feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated after sleeping in one of our luxury beds that feature ultra-soft, cotton sheets, a selection of the highest quality down and hypo-allergenic pillows, down duvet comforters and plush pillow-top mattresses. You may not want to get out of bed! Turn on the coffee maker or kettle and enjoy a mug of included coffee, tea or Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate. Catch a quick bite for breakfast at the kitchen island before you start to explore Detroit and the surrounding area. Whether you’re visiting for work or pleasure, use this location as your “home base”. The house is only a few minutes (half a mile) from both the I-75 and 696 highways giving you quick access to downtown Detroit in only 15 minutes. Here you will find a wealth of cultural, sporting and culinary adventures to suit any taste. Roam over to the trendy downtowns of Royal Oak and/or Ferndale and find some great music, food, and fun. Upon your return, grab an apron and start your own culinary adventure. Take advantage of the fully functional kitchen with ample counter space, and new, stainless steel appliances. We have equipped you with everything you need to whip up anything your heart desires. This includes pots, pans, utensils, spices, olive oil, baking sheets, mixing bowls, oven mitts, cutting boards, dishes and cutlery, and of course, plenty of wine glasses and wine opener. Then laugh, talk, and enjoy each other’s company over dinner at the dining room table. As the evening arrives, cuddle up on the couch with a warm, cozy blanket in front of the fireplace with a mug of hot chocolate or tea. Watch your favorite shows and movies through Roku and Netflix on the 55” HD 4K TV, or make use of the complimentary Wi-Fi on your personal phone, laptop, or tablet. Once you’re ready to relax, retreat to your own peaceful sanctuary – one of the three beautifully decorated bedrooms. The master bedroom also includes a 32” HD 4K TV. The house is outfitted with two full bathrooms and all the amenities you need including complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash/shower gel, hand soap, toilet paper, cotton swabs, room spray, and tissues. There are plenty of clean and plush, cotton bath towels, hand towels, and face cloths. Hair dryers are also available in each bathroom cabinet. Lots of Extra Amenities: • Outdoor back patio with patio set and umbrella to enjoy the sunshine. • High-end, digital and large capacity Samsung washer and dryer are available for your use along with iron, ironing board, laundry detergent, and fabric softener. • The kitchen has a new dishwasher, and includes dishwasher detergent tabs, as well as plenty of dish soap, dish clothes, dish towels, and paper towels. • Each bedroom offers a dresser, closets with hangers, mirrors, chairs, and laundry hampers. You will find lots of extra blankets, sheets, and pillows in the hallway closet. • Enjoy some additional evening entertainment with playing cards and games including Monopoly and Scrabble. • For your safety, there are fire alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, first aid kit, and a kitchen fire extinguisher placed in the home. The house is also monitored (on the outside ONLY) with the Ring video doorbell. • Maintain the perfect level of comfort and breathe easier with the available humidifier (found in the kitchen island cupboards). • Ceiling fan and space heater, are available in the master bedroom, and the fireplace acts as an extra source of heat in the living room to get yourself toasty warm while watching TV on those cooler nights. • Nightlights are located throughout the house for easy navigation late at night. • Digital lock on the front door allows for easy house access and no worrying about losing keys. • This is a single-level home so there are no stairs to climb (except one small half-step onto the front porch). • The house is professionally cleaned prior to your arrival to make sure it is clean, spotless and comfortable. • Explore the many custom and one-of-a-kind treasures around the house. The Hazelnut is packed with modern day luxuries mixed in with fascinating local antiques and artwork celebrating the rich, historical past of Detroit. Prepare to take a step back in time. You will have access to the whole house (1250 square feet) - SO much better than a cramped 300 square foot hotel room that will cost you more!) Plus you have a private backyard that can be enjoyed during the summer months with patio furniture . Any questions you have before or during your stay, we are always just a message away! We will give you complete privacy and space as the house is all yours, but you can reach us any time. However, we will reach out to you when the grass needs to be cut to gain access to the backyard. The house is located in a quiet, and safe upcoming neighborhood, but access to the highways 696 and I-75 are just a few minutes away giving you the ability to go anywhere! Jump in the car, or catch an Uber or Lyft into downtown Detroit...you're only 15 minutes away from all the downtown action including the Cobo Center, Tiger's Comerica Stadium, Ford Field Stadium, Little Caesars Arena, and so much more! Within walking distance to the Hazelnut: - 8 minute walk to award-winning Mabel Gray restaurant (make a reservation in advance!) - 7 minute walk to 'frame' restaurant (an incredible experience-based restaurant - reservations are a must to coincide with their scheduled events) - Look up frame hazel park. - 7 minute walk to Latido by JoeBar (an awesome latin inspired restaurant/bar) - 9 minute walk to Cellarmen's Mead, Cider and Beer. (Note: These are all only a 3 minute drive away around the corner.) Located 30 minutes away from the Detroit airport by car. Free parking is available at The Hazelnut, as we have a driveway, plus additional street parking. Don't have a car? Grab an Uber or Lyft, and you're within minutes of anywhere you need to go. Since this is a 3 bedroom house, we have a 2 guest minimum, and the number of guests in the home MUST be reflected in the booking for insurance purposes. Thank you.
