Trestlewood: Secluded Mountain Cabin close to town
Description
Kick back and relax in this peaceful mountain cabin. We call it Trestlewood for the kitchen cabinets that were made from wood salvaged from the old Railroad Trestle that went across the Great Salt Lake. The space **If booking for winter see below. You’ll travel about 1/2 mile on a well maintained dirt road. Enter the main living room which is open to the kitchen and dining which is vaulted to the loft upstairs. 1/2 bath and landry behind the kitchen. Main level master suite with oversized jetted tub. Go upstairs to two more bedrooms (called the fish room and bear room based on the decor.). Full bathroom and loft with fuse ball table and pullout couch. Enjoy dining, reading or visiting on the large deck. Newly finished theater room in the basement. *Summer Guests: No AC. July and August can get warmer than ideal, but it always cools considerably at night. Open up the window and let the cool air in. Ceiling fans and portable fans provided. **WINTER GUESTS: Road is plowed but still packed snow, 4-wheel/all wheel drive and/or chains required. You’ll also need to park in a lower driveway and walk about 50 yards up to the cabin. We always take a couple trips there in the winter and really enjoy it. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin minus the furnace/supply room in the basement and the garage. Other things to note The cabin does not have AC, however the high altitude and large shade trees keep it comfortable. We’ve enjoyed staying in the hottest days of summer for years, open up the windows and let in the cool mountain air. It does have fans. Natural gas furnace (and a wood fireplace) keeps it warm in winter.
