Description
Dunesview is a stylish, fully furnished, cozy, and private guest cabin with high ceilings and lots of natural light. This serene lakefront cabin sits beside our home on West Lake, steps from the world-famous sand dunes. It is the perfect 3-season getaway for active adults, offering the opportunity to cycle, swim, paddle, or simply to relax and unwind while enjoying spectacular views and sunsets. Our approach is inclusive and we would be delighted to host your visit. License ST-2019-019 R5 The space The Beach House is clean and bright with an abundance of windows which are dressed with blackout curtains for a comfortable sleep and maximum privacy. The Beach House includes a queen-size bed plus a double sized sofa bed suitable for a small child. There is a 3 piece bath with shower. Use the well-equipped kitchenette or the shared Napolean gas BBQ to prepare food and cook. Dine outside on your picnic table or inside using the roll-away table with chairs. Store your clothes in the large closet or the two small three-drawer dressers. Use the ceiling fan and/or the small electric space heater to ensure comfortable temperatures and air flow. Private secure storage is available for your fishing poles, bikes/helmets, life jackets, paddles, beach coolers etc. Parking is on site. Keys are located in a lockbox and the access code will be shared a day or two before your scheduled arrival. The Property The property boasts a sandy beach with clear water and gradual entry, a 60’ pier and a beach-front fire pit, all of which are shared by guests of the Beach House and the main Guest House. The Beach House offers panoramic views overlooking popular West Lake, the famous Sand Dunes and spectacular nightly sunsets. Amenities The Beach House offers a fully equipped kitchenette complete with apartment-sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, single-element hot plate, coffee maker, kettle, dishes, cutlery and utensils. It also includes basic staples like coffee, tea, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, and basic spices etc. Fresh premium bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided. There is a picnic table to enjoy outdoor meals. WIFI is available however the signal is unreliable at times and would be insufficient for streaming videos or work-from-home stays. A TV with DVD player is provided. Consider bringing your favourite DVDs or make a selection from our broad range of predominantly older movies. If you find you’ve forgotten something, just ask. We’ll help if we can! What to Do Activities abound but please check local and Government listings for the latest information. Start your day on the pier enjoying some quiet reflection, your morning coffee or some yoga. If staying in the immediate area is your preference, use our private sand beach to swim or to put in your own canoe, kayak or paddleboard. Boat rentals are also available nearby. Bring your fishing pole to fish from the pier as the area offers some of the best fishing in the province. It’s a short walk down the road or a quick paddle across West Lake to the sand dunes where you can enjoy the day use clear water beach or hike the forest and lake front trails. You will have access to 2 mountain bikes to explore the immediate area. Please bring your own helmets. If you wish to venture further, the Beach House is also great as a base from which you can explore the County. Check out the schedule of County festivals. There’s always something exciting happening! Enjoy a day wine tasting and enjoying exceptional restaurants or visit the museums, theatres, art galleries, artisans, and antique shops. Head 20 minutes to the Wellington area where you can enjoy wineries, craft breweries, the farmers market, the lavender farm, the art gallery and many wonderful restaurants. Visit quaint Bloomfield - a 15 minute drive - for hand-dipped ice cream cones, artists’ studios, spas, farm stands and bike rentals. Or head east 30 minutes and taste locally made cheese, cider, and wine or explore Lake on the Mountain and the Glenora Ferry. Stop in the historic town of Picton for shopping, craft breweries, art, theatre, golf and restaurants. A Sandbanks Provincial Park vehicle permit is available for your use if you would like to explore the Park and its grand public Outlet Beach. In the evening, enjoy spectacular sunsets from your Beach House or the pier. Star-gaze or connect around a campfire after your day exploring "The County". Indoors, you can read, watch videos or use one of the puzzles, board games or card games provided. Or head to the Regent or the Mustang Drive-In for new release movies.
