The Two Room Inn is a very beautiful, truly unique Victorian cottage located in the heart of historic gold rush town Nevada City in the Sierra foothills. Comfort, luxury, location, ambiance. Walk out the door and you are in downtown Nevada City with its wonderful array of cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries. Within a few minutes' drive are numerous hiking trails and river swimming holes, and everywhere the beautiful natural surroundings of the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. The space The Two Room Inn is a beautiful and truly unique home. Originally built in the 1880's as a miners' cabin it has been upgrade, expanded, remodeled and renovated several times over its long and varied history. It has had many incarnations over the decades, including a private residence, a rectory for the church across the street, the Teddy Bear Castle, and now as a lovely, very special, vacation rental home. The house is fully equipped and outfitted with everything you will need for a perfect vacation. It has been lovingly furnished and decorated, and is a luxurious and comfortable home away from home. There is a wonderful front deck and a very special "Secret Garden" out back for outdoor enjoyment, as well as a balcony off the master suite upstairs looking out over the charming town of Nevada City. Please note that there are actual beds for four people. there is a king bed upstairs in the master suite. Downstairs in the second bedroom can be one or two twins or another king. Additional guests can use a queen air mattress or twin futons which will be left out with bedding so they can be set up where ever preferred. Guest access Guests are renting the entire house. There is no one else on the premises, but someone is available for questions and to deal with any issues that might arise. Rates vary with the time of the year and the days of the week. There is a two night minimum on Friday and Saturday, one night is fine during the week. Rates include 10% local hotel tax. It is important to note that rates are for up to four people, and that there are actual beds for 4. Additional guests will be charged $40 per person per night, $15 for children under 12. For additional guests there are a queen air mattress and twin size futons with bedding or twin inflatable mattresses.. Other things to note The Two Room Inn is a licensed vacation rental property and is professionally managed and operated by the owner who has been in the vacation rental business for many years. Rates quoted are for up to 4 people. Additional guests will be charged $40 per person per night. The cleaning fee is $160. Local tax is 10%. Please also note that while the cancellation policy is 50% refund within the cancellation period, if I can rent the house to someone else for your dates I will refund the entire amount for the days rented to someone else. We also have a special, mid-week (Sunday to Thursday) one night rate for two people, of $250, inclusive of everything. Please contact the owner to book this special rate. There are several annual special events in Nevada City during which time there are special rates involved. For Mardi Gras or July 4th there is a 3 night minimum. For Summer Nights and Victorian Christmas there is always a two night minimum, and the rate for the particular day of the special event is $300, including tax. The second day will be charged at the regular rate. For Christmas week there is a four night minimum, and for New Years a two night minimum. Both of those times are charged at $300 a night.
