The space "Casa Silvestre" is a century-old house, located in the old town of Castejón de Sos, which has been carefully restored recently with the aim of creating a unique, serene and harmonious space. In its reconstruction, artistic elements have been integrated into the north and east facades of the house itself, giving rise to a work of art permanently exposed to the public, which, in short, marks its uniqueness. The artistic intervention was carried out by Santiago Arranz, who incorporated different artistic elements (door, railing, sgraffito* and windows) as plant motifs, alluding to the house's own name. Casa Silvestre is located at number 3 Calle Valle Sositana de Castejón de Sos, located in an environment rich in traditional and heritage architectural examples, such as the Church of San Sebastián, 17th century, currently converted into an active Cultural Center. Guests have access to the entire house. It's in a perfect location...! Located in the old town, going out to the right are all the services (Bakery, Butcher, Food stores, Tobacco/bookstore, Cafeteria, Restaurants...) and to the left - for hiking lovers - it connects with the "eight path" that surrounds Castejón de Sos, and the trails that lead to the villages of the "solano" (Arasan, Liri, Sos, Ramastué, Eresué...) *Sgraffito is an ancient technique, closely linked to architecture, and with a long history in the Islamic, Andalusian and Mudejar world, where the poverty of materials was compensated by the ornamental richness of the walls profusely decorated by sgraffito. In Spain we have numerous examples of the survival of this technique, carried out by the Mudejar builders, mainly in the area of Castile: Segovia, Ávila and Salamanca, where this ancestral technique survived, unlike the sgraffito from Italy, of Renaissance repertoire, which would make a fortune in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries in the Kingdom of Valencia, spreading from here to neighboring lands such as Catalonia and Aragon. Other more recent examples of sgraffito, known worldwide, are those made by Pablo Picasso on the facade of the College of Architects of Barcelona, executed by the Norwegian artist Carl Nesjar, in 1960, with a novel sandblasting technique, which pierced the stone, leaving the drawings in bas-relief.
