You want privacy, no sweat. Prefer a little conversation, or someone to watch football or a movie with, we're good with that too. Never met a person we didn't find interesting, and most of 'em we really got to like. Coffee's always free, but I know everyone's tastes vary--Starbucks? Dunkin'? Ugh, so complicated, eh? My son and I cook pretty much every day, but simple, healthy, sometimes weird stuff. You're welcome to use the kitchen too; ...and there're bunches of restaurants nearby, and quite a bit of ethnic diversity...even pizza, McDonalds, Chinese, subs, and KY Fried. Other things to note MOST pets are fine, unless, like, ...a rhino. I ask an additional $5/day for each pet you bring. However, I have to add one important exception. All of us here absolutely lo-o-o-ove dogs. BUT, we have to say "NO" TO PIT BULLS, whether purebred or mixed breed. Unfortunately, we've had 3 incidents of attacks, perhaps because we have two rooms on airbnb here, and so we have strangers in fairly often. And I just can't afford to risk losing the house because of a lawsuit. Anyway, if you have a dog that has ANY pit in him/her at all, I'll' have to ask you not to stay. I'll be willing to refund your money, but I know that you'd lose some of it to airbnb; let alone that you'd have to scramble to find a place for the night. Nobody needs that, right? Another caution. We had a wonderful Dalmatian for all of her life. And my daughter raises really cool German Short-Haired Pointers and Rat Terriers, albeit in Arizona. I'm just amazed at what escape artists those GSPs can be. I've seen them walking atop a 6' chain-link fence like a crutchin' squirrel! Sheesh. They also run like the wind and jump as effortlessly as a deer. That means that my 42" high fence around the perimeter may not be much of a barrier to a GSP or Dalmatian or other breed with similar abilities. Just a note of caution. We can host them, but we can't always watch them out in the backyard. In addition, a caution about small dogs or pets. We used to have about 20 rabbits here and a Chihuahua. Over two years, all of the rabbits were eventually killed by either a Great horned owl who moved in for that duration, or else by a local fox that we never knew lived around here. And the Chihuahua was nearly lost one afternoon when he was dive-bombed by a neighborhood hawk. I ran out from beneath a tree just in the knick of time yelling my head off at him, and the hawk pivoted back up on a dime. Close one. The lesson, of course, is enjoy the backyard with your fury friend, but please be out there with them. We do keep a pooper scooper at the ready for ya. With any other animal, please call first. That's because we have a 3-month-old kitten here, a very friendly older blind dog sometimes, and an occasional outside Tomcat who crashes in the living room. If you can text me or call me with an approximate arrival time, I'll try to be sure not to be out somewhere gallivanting when you arrive, just to make sure you can find everything okay. I'm a recently retired school principal, and, although still plenty busy, schedule is very flexible. And I no longer grade on tardiness.
